THE SINGER, NOT THE SONG
« on: March 11, 2009, 12:07:17 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes had both singer and song, not necessarily in that order, and now it is time for you to post until the singing cows come home.

A bromo might take care of that problem!

Barring a bromo, one can simply enjoy the beauty of the various species flitting about in the open (I hope everyone here witnesses a plethora of butterflies throughout their lives).

DR JoseSPiano - yes, I did get a detailed listing of what they did re: work on my car, and I suspect you're right - I doubt they were looking at the audio system.     :-\

Last night, I went to see Hello, Dolly! at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle.  It starred Jenifer [sic] Lewis as Dolly and Seattle's own Pat Cashman as Horace.  It was an interracial cast.  Both Dolly and Minnie Fay were African American, as well as several chorus members.  Overall, it was quite good.  Jenifer seemed to channel Pearl Bailey a bit, but she definitely made the part her own.  I'd never seen a professional production and I thoroughly enjoyed it!  Here's a picture of Jenifer:

And here's Pat Cashman:

I also have to say I am also enjoying the notes. It is nice to go down memory lane. I remember attending the recording session of Jeepers Creepers and was looking forward to meeting Ms Loudon and was disappointed she was unable to attend the session. I had no idea she was not well and was sad when she passed away. I always felt she deserved to be better know outside the broadway melieu.

I had the good fortune to see her several times on Broadway and she was a joy to watch.

Last night when the Vixter was going to bed she realized she could not locate her cellphone (which she also uses as an alarm clock).  The last time she remembered seeing it was in the dressing room at Kohl's.

After searching my car and her room and calling the phone umpteen times I hopped in the car and drove up to Kohl's (it's less than a mile from our house).

I checked the dressing room, checked with the cashiers, customer service ... no luck.

So I drove home and called our service provider and stopped service on her phone.

This morning the Vixter was awoken by the sound of her cell phone alarm clock.

It turns out she had put the cell phone in the pocket of her hoodie which she then hung in her armoire.  Why we didnlt hear it ringing when we called it last night is beyond me butat least it is not lost.

I called our service provide this morning and had her phone reactivated

I went to the butterfly pavilion yesterday at the botanical garden, but between the art exhibit and the winter visitors and the school field trips, it was just too crowded.

I'm glad you found the phone. I've never lost mine (except here in the house). I have found two lost phones that I have returned to their owners.

Then we drove to the supermarket to pick up the cake for her friend's surprise birthday celebration in homeroom.  We walked into the supermarket and as we were heading to
the bakery department the Vixter realized she did not have her wallet - so back to the car - back home and picked up her wallet and back to the supermarket (we only live a few blocks from there fortunately)

The cake was then collected withour further mishap.  The Vixter was delighted with how it looked.  I hope her chorus teacher didn't mind her bringing it in and than her friend likes it.

We've been very lucky with lost phones.  I once left mine in the shopping cart at the supermarket and the cart boy found it and turned it in to customer service.

Last year Vixdad had his fall out of his jacket pocket on the train and it was found by someone a few towns over who called me from his phone.  They gave me their address and I went and collected it.

I love the butterfly pictures you have been posting.  When teh Vixter was about 4 we went to the butterfly exhibit at the Bronx Zoo.  There we did get to seea plethora of butterflies.  My inlaws were visitng at the time and they came with us.  For some reason the butterflies were attracted  to my MIL's white hair.  They kept landing on her head, much to her delight.
