I just read that CBS has renewed its first two shows for next season: TWO AND A HALF MEN and THE BIG BANG THEORY.

MEN was renewed for THREE years!

THEORY was renewed for TWO years!

I am back.  HHW is looking a little fuzzy, until I adjust the tilt of my head.  They said it would take some days to get used to it, but so far: not too bad!

And my copies of the new Kritzerland releases arrived today!!!   Hoo and Ray.

I am thrilled that Kritzerland is releasing again at semi-regular intervals.

Well, I will have to check the office mail tomorrow to see if Anya has arrived. I had it sent to the office since Mr. Morelli isn't home to play doorman if the postman rings the buzzer.

This very afternoon I am [finally] going to pick up my new, first-time progressive lenses.

I wonder if I'll be able to drive myself home?     :P

Well, at least I've got my current eyeglasses, just in case.

Betsy had a heckuva time for a while after she first got them.  Be careful.

Why do you people thousands of miles away get yours before I get mine?  Why, Bruce?   ;D

DR MBarnum - It really should be plug-n-play.  Are you at least able to plug your ethernet cable directly from your modem into your computer/laptop for "wired" access?

I am able to do that with my lap top, however I moved my PC into the dining room and it is now too far away from the modem to plug into it.

I did find out from Comcast that I needed to reset the modem, which they kindly did for me yesterday evening. That helped and at least during the set up it finally recognized the modem

....but my final try last night, after going through all of the steps that the Netgear cd disk asked of me, the very last page on the disk was blank...so I could not figure out if I was done (evidently not, since no wireless worked) or if there were further instructions.

DR MB does your PC at least detect your wireless network?  What type of device is your PC using to connect (a network card or a USB device?)

So far I have not tried the PC at all, first trying to get the laptop to work. I did buy a USB device for the PC for when I get to that point.

What a crazy day.  As you know, I booked my flight yesterday and used my business cc to do so (the gal who's paying for the trip had already given me a check for the flight).  Today I get a message to call Continental immediately as they haven't been able to process the reservation.  I call - they tell me the card was declined.  I tell them not possible.  They don't care.  I give them my other card, which I DON'T like to use for business things - that one is fine.  I then call my bank - they've now put a hold on my business card.  Why?  Because Continental was having problems with their network and didn't see that the card had been approved on the first try and so they kept trying to put the charge through multiple times - which, of course, sends up an immediate red flag with the bankcard service and they immediately put a hold on the card.  I had to spend twenty minutes getting the hold removed (they take a LOT of precautions, which is a good thing) - but I just want to call Continental and tell them what peckerwoods they are for doing that and then acting like it's MY fault.

One of the DVDs I got was MILK - which I watched last night.

I was so moved by this movie and Sean Penn's performance.

I went to my parents' house last night and afterwards, I stopped at the Costco close to their house.  I bought "Milk" and hope to watch it this weekend. :)

I packed up another big International order today, plus a few smaller ones, but I'll take them over in the morning when there will hopefully be less people.  These big International orders are a pain as there's no way to do them on my postage machine.

I can't view this from my office network, so I can't vouch for it, but HERE is supposedly the West Side Story Vanity Fair photo shoot.  With models, not the current revival cast.

Some of those photos look more like the Movieland Wax Museum than real models.

I can now officially tell you that we will be doing an elaborately staged reading of The First Nudie Musical on June 15 and 16 at the NoHo Arts Center Theater as part of the LA Festival of New Musicals.  I'm hoping some of you can come out for it.

re: last night's DWTS.

*

I agree. I was fine with who went home last night. But surprised at who was in B2. I thought that person was more popular! :(

Jennifer, I am curious why you believe that the vast majority of the public is incapable of voting on these programs for anyone except who they consider popular.  If I was going to vote for DWTS or AI, I certainly believe that I am smart enough to vote for the person who gave the best performance and not just for who had the most airtime or the largest fan club.  We are not exactly talking about superstars on DWTS and I don't think that seeing someone several times in the opening weeks on AI is going to make me vote for them if they don't have the talent.
