I watched this week's episode of LIFE while I ate lunch. An entertaining episode with some unusual suspects. I enjoyed this week's show a lot.

Next, I watched the men's figure skating final recorded off Oxygen last night. Evan Lysechek had the cleanest skate, unquestionably but Patrick Chan's style is so smooth and effortless that next year's Olympic gold medal is going to be a real shootout between those two, Brian Joubert from France and Johnny Weir if he's healthy and his head is screwed on straight. (Weir actually is the only one of this group who can compete with Patrick style-wise, but his moods are so erratic that his skating can br effortless or disastrous.)

Next, I watched this week's LAW & ORDER. Not nearly as good as case as usual, no real mystery. Edward Herrmann was the principal guest star.

After that I watched this week's 30 ROCK. There were a lot of laughs in this week's show though with three plots going, it seemed disjointed like it often does.

Next I rewatched Adam Lambert's sensational rendition of "Tracks of My Tears" from Wednesday night's IDOL. Every year, one performance during the season seems to come out of nowhere and define the season. I'd be very surprised if this one isn't the standout song from this season. We have a long way to go, of course, but it was so pure and so unique, I think it might be unmatchable. Doesn't mean he's going to win, but it is still the year's best performance thus far.

I finished my afternoon by skimming through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Nothing of interest, but they boys were in the previews for next week.

I have just ordered Anya, Un Chambre en Ville (the exerpts sound ravishing), Milla Ilieva, and Evening Primrose.

HEADS UP, BK:

On the Catalogue page of Kritzerland, the photos of Anya and That Man from Rio are switched.  Or the descriptions are switched.  One or the other.

And now I'm leaving work and listening to Colette Collage.

The "fool" fool has just apologized--sort of.  Except that he's deleted his own comment (he's a Mod on the Board), which makes his kind of apology rather funny.

Whoops--spoke too soon--he's gone back and removed his sort of apology.  These people are incredible.

And the trifecta, ladies and germs--he went back a third time to remove his complaint that I said HHW was a sales/promotional site, which of course I never did.  Oy.

TOD - DVD:  In addition to Forget-Me-Not Lane, we have the first 2 episodes of Torchwood.  We watched the first while eating lunch and are now hooked.

And how is BK selling all of his CDs a bad thing??  That's what "limited edition" means!

Topic of the Day:  right now, I'm listening to the official original Broadway cast recording of Shrek

Tonight, I'm going to see a local production of Jesus Christ Superstar.  I have a season ticket for next Wednesday, but a friend of mine and her husband don't want to see this (they saw another production just last year and are too busy this month) so they gave me their tickets. ;D

Roulette, I believe, was with Universal but may now be with Warner Bros./Rhino.  It's like roulette, these endless sales of catalogs - it's almost impossible to know where these things end up.  I'm trying to find out who owns Project 3 now.

I don't understand the Parisians!

Well, if DR SweetIrma is an example, one could well understand why!      ;)

That remark ... floors me!! :D

I believe DR Jose posted that painting because of the bare chested carpenter!

Well, then, the artist should have painted the floor that way!  Why did he paint a perfectly good looking hardwood floor getting scrapped up?  And for that matter, why are these guys scraping up stripes?  If they are going to re-do the floor, why aren't they scraping up all of the finish?

The artist was obviously trying to evoke symbolically the "prison" of the paradox of modern life.

That painting was turned into a movie in 2007 by Claude Lelouch and is entitled ... TRACKS! ;)

I really have to laugh at the other site--their busy beaver Mods first insist they're the only source of information about things, and then when things devolve to a point where they can't maintain their egotistical b.s., they just as hurriedly delete all the posts about it.   It's news control at its finest.  ;)

Rhino-EMI partnership, and Rhino put out some high quality compact disc reissues.

I remember one Project3 Lp (I hope I am correct!) I am VERY fond of (Even though I haven't listened to it in ages) ...

A studio recording of CAROUSEL with Alfred Drake and Canadian Opera Singer Roberta Peters.

At the time, it was the best recorded version imho!!
