THE PENNY-A-WORD MAN

Well, you've read the notes, the notes didn't add up to much, word-wise, and now it is time for you to post until the penny-a-word cows come home - they've earned one-cent - they're word was: Moo (oom, spelled backwards).

BK, that's too bad about the attendance, but it sounds like you had a great event in spite of that.

I must NOW get to sleep!  Good night, BK and guests.

TAR is preempted tonight so that we may bring you the American Country Music Awards - an exercise in mediocrity with many ritards.

If you ever visit Fort Stockton, TX, avoid the La Quinta Inn.

   >:(

[Why you would want to visit Ft. Stockton anyway, I have no idea.  But, that's beside the point.]

Not only did the hair dryer not work (nor did it work in the room next to us), but something is very wrong with the hotel's key activating system.  I've now haw to walk up to the office four times (in an ice cold wind) to get one of my 2 keys reactivated.

So, why did we choose the La Quinta in the first place?

They are pet friendly...and we have 2 dogs/1 cat with us.

Good morning, all! I have laundry in the two washers in the basement and another load down the street at the Chinese laundry. I shall shortly spray the apartment with Steri-Fab and get through another round of protecting the apartment.

After that, I have a day with those pesky BABES. Tonight I'm having dinner with a friend at my favorite seafood place, Docks at 93rd or so and Broadway.

DR Jose, I know nothing about extra footage on the Robbins DVD; I had heard the PBS version was cut down so I didn't watch it. I enjoyed the DVD very much. After it was over, I skimmed through Deborah Jowitt's biography of Robbins and read about the making of FANCY FREE. Tonight, ON THE TOWN.

Thanks to the proclivities of Bravo to rerun their series to death, I am now all caught up with MAKE ME A SUPERMODEL and THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW YORK. Tonight is part two of LITTLE DORRIT, and I look forward to it.

I also have laundry but it's in the dryer. I am about to go back down 3 flights of stairs and walk to 16th Street and begin folding said laundry. Oh, the travails of city people with no in-house laundry.

It's supposed to rain all day tomorrow.

Good morning.
I have loaded and run the dishwasher.
I have vacuumed the whole of the living quarters (2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, hall, living room, dining room, den and kitchen).
I must have some energy coming from somewhere.

Good morning!

It was nice to sleep in my own bed again last night. It's going to be a beautiful day here today, but rain comes in tomorrow and it's going to generally be colder during this upcoming week.

I got out this morning and mowed the back yard. I could probably have gone another week, but it's good to get it out of the way and be done with it for awhile. I really hate mowing.

Looks like I'll be spending most of the day finishing up HAWAII FIVE-O. I have five episodes left, and while I've enjoyed the season, I think the previous two seasons were better.

I haven't made up my mind what I want to watch tonight after I finish up my work project. I just got the Blu-ray of THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. I have those Warners Archive discs (3 more). I also noticed sitting on the counter the other day that Warner Homefront Collection and might watch THIS IS THE ARMY since I haven't seen it in a long time and never in a decent looking print since it was in the public domain for so long.

And I have the season finale of DAMAGES (which I'll watch while I cook and eat lunch) and FLASHPOINT and SMALLVILLE still on the DVR. I need to tend to them, too.

DR Druxy - I stayed at a La Quinta once before.  Once.

*OH! And now that I think about it, the last time I stayed at a La Quinta was during my previous trip to Charleston almost 20 years ago!

The laundry is finished, the bed made, the kitchen and bathroom mopped, the floor vacuumed and sprayed. I am ready for a nap, but I have to read up on the Iroguois Theatre disaster again today for the economics of the tour stranded in Chicago after the fire.

I have two good books about the disaster, which is treated very inaccurately in movie THE SEVEN LITTLE FOYS, and my memory is that one of the books has a good section on the company of MR BLUEBEARD, the musical being performed when the fire broke out, and everyone being stranded because they lost all their money and property in the fire.
