Uncle Jo Jo-
And Where Did You Eat for SUP-SUP?
Your Food reporting on the Road is Sorely Lacking.
At Least that's what I heard from The Zagat's Today.

I have been "eating well" at a couple of restaurants: FIG, Boulevard Diners, Magnolias, Melvin's BBQ and Hominy Grill. And when I haven't been eating out, I've also been "eating well": cereal, oatmeal, apples, celery sticks, carrots, yogurt, baked chicken, and brown rice. -And even though I haven't stepped on a scale, my jeans are still feeling and getting looser.
I probably would be eating out more here in Charleston if I wanted to have shrimp and grits, Frogmore stew, and fried oysters at every meal. There are a lot of traditional Southern restaurants in town, both downhome and upscale. Otherwise, there are a lot of chains here, and I really am trying to eat "local" as much as possible. Additionally, no matter how nice the "fine dining" experience is at some places in town, I just don't feel like spending $30 for an entree of fried catfish filets.
As for tonight's sup-sup: We had another "pot luck" snack break in the middle of rehearsal: chips, dips, veggies, etc.
*Frankly, I could be very happy eating two or three times a week at FIG for the remainder of my stay here in Charleston. Since the menu changes daily, there's always something new to try, and even after only two visits, I already feel like I've been treated like a regular.
