Good morning!

It's very nice outside but the temperatures have fallen as expected and we'll be lucky to see 50 today (it was 70 yesterday). Very cold tonight, below freezing! The weekend promises to be gorgeous after rain on Friday.

Congratulations to the North Carolina Tar Heels who won the NCAA National Basketball Championship last night.

And thanks to DR TCB for his kind gesture of posting a team logo which must have brought them good luck!

Today I will be working on finshing up the Blu-ray of GIGI. I'm interested to watch the 1949 French version of the story (this predates Anita Loos' play based on Colette's story, I think). And the commentary should be interesting. It unfortunately does not include the gurgling Dr. Drew Casper, but he was featured in the documentary on the making of the movie.

Yes DR GINNY it snowed A LOT during auditions, but none of the snow stayed on the ground.

Well, now at least I don't feel like such a wuss for canceling the trip to Indiana with my mother.

I got the remainder of Criterion's Blu-ray and DVD releases for the month yesterday, a big box containing four more discs. None of them come out until April 21st and most come out on the 28th, so there will be time to get to them all. That sci-fi set of 23 short films is three discs of more than 3 hours per disc of material. That's going to take at least two days to get through.

Good morning, all! Very sad elegiac notes, BK!

I have more writing today on BABES, and I need sreriously to get back into the Loesser score and do the same for the piling up Jerome Moross materials.

I have no other news.

DRArnoldBrockman, Maureen Brennan is an old friend I haven't seen in years. I always thought she was wonderful.

Tuesday morning greetings!  I'm off to Dayton today for 2 meetings with my grantwriter friends.

My mom and I scratched our trip to Columbus, Indiana, because of the wintery weather.  We were supposed to drive over there this evening and spend a couple of days with my niece who's been there since Saturday with the Illinois State University women's golf team.  Laura (my niece) and I decided that it's going to be too cold tomorrow to have my mom out and about seeing unique architecture.

Ginny, I added an "a" to your destination; and was beginning to think that you were really adding a new chapter to your retirement.

TOD - the one and only time I've been to Academy Records on 18th St. in NYC, DR Elmore found for me a copy of the Ragtime recording that was made before the show opened on Broadway.  Is that a concept album?

LOL - no, DR TCB, "driving a race car" isn't on my bucket list!

Your very welcome DR Matt H.  I would cheer for Tyler Hansbrough in any arena he should decide to perform.

There was also that Disney recoding that came out in the 80's about the same time as RED, HOT AND BLUE, but the name escapes me at the mo'.  Tom Waits, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Buster Pointdexter and even Yma Sumac performed on it.  It was a wonderfully whacky recording.

Just Found it on Amazon: STAY AWAKE (though it looks like it's out of print...)

No, it's still in print at $13.98 on Amazon.com.

Does anyone know where DR Ron Pulliam has been?  I don't remeber reading his posts for several days.  Either that or I am more tired than I realized.  If so, my apologies, Ron.

I guess I am asking our Guests, since they are the only other people here.

I just saw the poster art for DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS.  I guess it really doesn't matter if Pablo Schrieber can act the part!

Well, my morning internet surf is over and I guess I'll head down now, check the mail, and then get started on today's lunch preparation.

Big news in Vermont. They were not sure if the Legislature would be able to get enough votes to override the Governor's expected veto.

bk, loved the notes.  Your stories are always amazing.

I'm awake....  I dreamed that I played "I Am What I Am" for John Barrowman in some concert thing, it was strange.  The next dream was stranger as I was preparing to play a funeral (which I have to do this morning) and someone was suppose to sing a Jerry Herman song, and Jerry Herman was in attendance.

I think it's a Jerry Herman day.

What the heck? The new Big Cheese at the District Office is now sending forwarded stories. We don't pay him to do that.
