We know Sherlock is alert as it nears the cheese time of day & that he runs into the kitchen when he smells cheese out of the frig.  We weren't aware he knew the word for it & Keith asked me so casually-lol.

Jane, I'm glad your headache cleared. I often find that when I'm feeling a bit under the weather that a walk helps. I don't know if it's just the fresh air that does it or if there's some offending pollen or other substance near me, but it does seem to help. Remarkably sometimes.

Laura, pls keep us posted on the Social Security number duplication--how you discovered it and what actions you are taking. Very scary.

I'm prone to rashes of unknown causes & have tried many different prescription creams & ointments & well as natural products.  In the past, except for rashes caused by poison plants, I found over the counter Cortizone-10 works the best.  I have no idea why.  Just a thought if the meds don't work.

Thanks.  I think it is the endorphins.  Today on my hike something was in the air bothering my allergies & I still felt better.  It helped it was a comfortably cool morning.

My quiz results are Delaware and elephant. Yeah, so?
...

Sorry, but Delaware remains a state, not a country...

 ;)

Oops! Yes, I knew Delaware was a state. I read the quiz wrong. It said, "country" but my brain thought, "state." Doh!

I forgot to add that after I ate my peanut butter pie, I was so full, I just sat in our booth like a Jew after a big meal for a few moments. Actually, I really WAS a Jew after a big meal, so I believe that behavior was entirely appropriate.

"SAVE early and often" is what I always say!

He went to the power company to get the power turned on, and when they ran a credit check he was informed that someone else was using his SS number. It is up to him to do any and all investigative work, according to the SS office.

I shall now be on my way to the Ahmanson Theater, after which I shall return.  I've been invited for a drink with the managing director at intermission in the exclusive Ahmanson VIP lounge.

Someone could have just made up a social security number and it happens to be his.  I would be concerned about this and I don't understand why Social Security won't do anything about it.

In the age of computers I don't understand why this wasn't caught the first time a different name was used with the number.  I read an interesting article about this awhile back & can't remember what I read. ::)

When I saw them make the Triple Play Turkey meatball whatever it's called on Celebrity Apprentice, I remember thinking "that meatball looks like it would taste like cardboard"  I was very close.  Of course in the real meal you get 4 not 3 meatballs and it doesn't appear to be gluten free

For years a friend of our has had one of those normal brown spots common with getting older.  She tried various methods of removing it, including laser & excision.  It just kept growing, as they often do.

Yesterday she had a rather large sized melanoma removed from her face.  The only change in the brown spot was a slightly pink tinge around one edge of it.  Shocking is the dermatologist who attempted to cut it out 5 years ago never sent it for a biopsy.

This is scary because multiple doctors did not recognize it as melanoma & she was sent to the current dermatologist for a suspicious mole which turned out to be nothing.  The new dermatologist took one look at her face and knew.  I think the pink tinge was the clincher.

She will eventually need a skin graft.  First the doctors are waiting for the results from the lab to say they got it all, which they are 99% sure they did.

DR Jane - I hope your friend is OK.  My mom had that kind of surgery on her face a couple of months ago and we're going for her recheck next week.

DR Ginny I thought your mother "only" had skin cancer.  Are you saying it was melanoma?  I hope it wasn't as large as my friend's.  How is she doing & did they get it all?
