My allergies are bothering me a bit today, but it was SOOO nice to have all the windows open and have the breeze flowing through.  It's supposed to be much cooler and rainy this weekend.

My nephew David (twin of DR jhvw) had a heart catheter put in today. His valve replacement surgery is now scheduled for April 30.

Someone could have just made up a social security number and it happens to be his.  I would be concerned about this and I don't understand why Social Security won't do anything about it.

Counterfeit SS cards are a big business out here. Employers are obligated to check for SS numbers; they are not obligated to be sure said numbers are legit.

DR Jane - you're right, my mom had "just" skin cancer and, yes, they got it all.  Her face looks great - you can tell that this dermatologist does a lot of cosmetic surgery, too.

I've had a lot of identity theft cases that are someone using someone's SS #. Sometimes they know it's real and sometimes it's just made up as a part of false papers so someone can get a job.

Don't they have to turn the info into the government?  If not they should!

Did you do the tips suggested on the social security website?  How many ways have you found this person using the s.s# or will it be awhile before you know?

He got home tonight and posted on Facebook that he was very tired.  So far so good. They have always known he'd need a heart valve replacement sometime in his life, but that doesn't make it any less scary.  Luckily he has lots of support from friends and family

No it doesn't.  I hope when this is over with he won't have to worry about it any more.

This has been a very aggravating evening between the traffic and the buses having no sort of regular schedule. I went up to my storage space and waited 15 minutes for a No. 7 or No 11 bus to take me to 106th Street. Given that two buses run Amsterdam Avenue, it's ridiculous to be waiting long for either bus. After 15 minutes, a No 7 showed up followed by another No 7! I got to the storage space, gathered what I needed and waited for 30 minutes for a No 11 bus going downtown, According to the posted schedule, there should have been three arriving at Columbus and 107th Street between 7:40 and 8:10. A bus finally arrived, followed by another! Are the buses afraid to travel alone? Must they herd?

God, I'm starting to really hate the MTA because they're probably using their claims of having no money to cut the schedules back. If they want to make money, they should start charging the damned free-riding kids who take all the seats and force us paying old folks to stand. Fuckem.

I also dn't understand why, for a two year lease I should pay rent for two years at $9900 a year when for a one-year lease I'd only be paying next year $9300! Shouldn't the damned 2-year lease be the money saver?

Our friend Paul Jackel (who worked with bk on the LAST STARFIGHTER NYMF 2006 reading) is also in LEGALLY BLONDE, playing Elle's father.

I enjoyed him very much!

It got very warm here today. I wore a long sleeved shirt to the theater tonight and I was worried aI was going to get too warm during the show, especially if there was a full house. Fortunately, they had turned on the air conditioning.

Before we left for the theater, I had time to watch a program. I chose Monday night's HEROES. I really enjoyed it as it builds to the season finale.

LEGALLY BLONDE was very enjoyable. The cast worked hard (lots of great looking guys), the show is fun, and the second act has a couple of strong production numbers that really give a lift to the second act.

They had a big crowd tonight. I had heard through the grapevine a month ago that the show wasn't selling well, but quite a few big stories in the newspaper over the last two weeks must have convinced folks to give it a try. It also got a very positive opening night review in the local newspaper.

Found out I'm going to be reviewing the X-MEN trilogy set on Blu-ray (it came out already on Tuesday), so I'll be spending the rest of the weekend watching the first two movies again on DVD and watching the bonus features so I can get a head start on the set. I can have the films themselves reviewed and the bonus features watched and written up (ported from the special edition DVDs to the Blu-rays) before I actually get the set. Then I can add the video and audio write-ups and tweak the rest of the review depending on what else might be there.

Also supposed to be getting THE WRESTLER and NOTORIOUS on Blu-ray for review. They were put in the mail today, so I assume I'll get them on Monday.

No one took the quiz?

I did.  I actually came up with Dominican Republic and orangutan. :)

I got Dominican Republic and an otter.

Today while in the parking garage, I answered the phone and was greeted with, "So where's my matzoh ball soup?"
