DR Vixmom I'm sure your co-workers would be pleased to see you return with a tan. :)

I'm thinking about putting on my IPod and going outside to lay out on the roof.

DR MattH - we are also airing our house.  Richard is swapping the storm windows for screens (yes, we have old-fashioned windows) and you can feel the house breathe as he goes.

I love this time in the spring and fall when I can do this, but I WISH it didn't get so BLAME hot during the afternoons. Well, at least the mornings are very pleasant.

Please wave, DR Jose, and maybe if you look hard enough, you'll be able to see what I'm watching for my work project. At this stage of the morning, even *I* don't know what it's going to be yet!

TOD:  What is the single best stage show you’ve ever seen – whether play or musical or one-person show – the one you couldn’t ever forget – the one that took you places no other show has.

Since the request is for "single best" that we've seen, I have to say it's "A Chorus Line" for musical.

For one-person show, it's definitely Barbara Cook's "Mostly Sondheim".

I know I'm in the minority on this one! While I enjoyed A CHORUS LINE, I was more moved by the story telling and images in GODSPELL! I never, ever understood the frenzy over the show.

I'm with DtM, but probably because it was the first Broadway show I saw on Broadway (as opposed to a touring company)--PIPPIN.  I had already fallen in love with the OCR, but, wow, when that scrim lit up with all the blacklit hands, I was bowled over, and continued to be for the next two hours.  I saw the original cast, too.  It was amazing.  (I think I've mentioned John Rubinstein went on to a more illustrious role as my nephews' soccer coach in L.A.).  ;)

Not seeing FOLLIES was one of the biggest disappointments of my NYC travels when younger.  It had closed by the first time I went back there.  I did see ALNM *right* after it opened--one of my Uncles had to pull some strings to get me tickets, I remember quite clearly--because he bitched so loudly about it.  ;)

TOD - Cabaret original cast, because it was my first NYC show and because it was so unlike anything I'd seen before.

TOD

1776 was my very first experience with a Broadway show.  I was about 11 or 12 and signed up for the theatre trip at my local library.

When the day came I found that it was a trip for the blue haired ladies and I wa the only child (an unaccompanied at that - I suspect my parents assumed as I had that this was going to be similar to a "class trip")

I digress

I had a front row center mezzanine seat and I was SURE that Benjamin Franklin was talking directly to ME the entire show

This show hooked me on live theatre - I was part of several other of the library theatre trrips after that, although alas never again to Broadway.  But I did see several shows at the Stratford Shakespeare festival in Stratford, CT

BK, I still mulling over the TOD.  I've been very lucky to have seen a lot of magnificent theatre and to have to pick just one single show is well-night impossible.

Good Morning.  Sugar and I saw many birds, cats, dogs and trees so far.  It's a lovely 61 degrees, so the heat hasn't made the pollen too annoying yet.

Good morning, everyone.

Oh, I like the new headshots from both TCB and TD.

Jane, I'm glad your rash is clearing up. DF&H#2 is doing better, too.

Vibes to Danise for a satisfactory resolution--and soon.

Belated birthday wishes to Jennifer.

I spent much of yesterday looking at houses. I'm shopping for a neighborhood more than a house at this point. Despite the significant decline in housing prices, houses are still not cheap. I'm wondering how many body parts I'll need to sell to buy a house here.

TOD:
In terms of which show had the most impact on me I guess it'd have to be ONCE UPON A MATTRESS. Bruce called me one day long, long ago and said, "You MUST see it." I went--it was the first musical I'd seen live--and fell in love with Bluth Bros and musical theatre.

Thank you DR Jeanne, if only my arms would stop itching now.  I'm glad DF & H#2 is improving.

The news is always stating how poor the California market is & we keep hearing from friends & family the "good" areas are still somewhat high.  You have to be very fast to get a good deal.  Best of luck & good vibes you find the perfect place at the perfect price.
