Seth Rudetsky is new to me.  I had to watch several of the videos and will spend much more time watching the rest tonight.

Today I dug up the sod in the area where I am putting in a little garden, then mixed in mulch and manure with new top soil.  It was a lot of work (unlike Michelle Obama's garden photo op, the sod on my yard doesn't com pre-cut and pre-dug for easy removal)

I really don't like to garden. I do like to eat the vegetables fresh from the backyard, though, so I'll do it

Our last frost date isn't until May 10, so I should wait a week to plant, but it doesn't look like we'll get frost in the next week, so I think I'll plant tomorrow.

I also went clothes shopping today.  There were some really good sales - door busters the whole 9 yards and there were very few people in the store.  I was really surprised.  Shopping is a necessity for me...after losing 46 pounds so far, nothing fits me.  I'm several sizes smaller.  :)  I just hate having to spend the money to have clothes that fit

There was a particularly chilling murder in TORN CURTAIN.....a Russian agent just wouldn't stay down....I think he was finally dispatched with a shovel.

But the most chilling death/murder for me was the botched execution in THE GREEN MILE.

DR MATTH - I prefer the original GREY GARDENS documentary as well....but the HBO movie has a performance that - for me - goes beyond impersonation.  Drew Barrymore IS Little Edie.

Congrats!! They say around 2 pounds a week is the best rate to lose so you're right on track!

Here is ALICE RIPLEY performing Meadowlark. Taken from a performance of the Baker's Wife with an introduction I never heard before.  Who Does He Think He Is? (??)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrgDXSg0Yl8

The introduction you never heard before is on the original cast recording and sung by Patti Lupone.

Tonight I'm planning to go through my closet again and take a bunch of stuff to Good Will.  I am not going to keep my fat clothes.

DR Michael S - Yes, that is the song's original introduction as it is in the show. -And it's a bitch to conduct and play since it's so fast and changes meters every other measure.

DR Matthew - Tell your stage manager that you will give her a visual cue with your left hand.  And/or tell your director to have someone on stage move or make a gesture - and that will signal the descent of the curtain.

*Or just do like Paul Gemignani sometimes does when he's waiting - or wants people to wait - he looks at his watch while he's holding the prepatory beat.

DR FJL - Ooohh... Bar Americain!  One of Bobby Flay's places.  And, yes, it tends to be a bit more "casual" than one would think.  *And it's also a surprisingly good bargain (relatively) for a lunch during the week.

*And, you're welcome. <welcome>

And after spending a good chunk of this afternoon walking around Millenium Park and Grant Park - we never made it over to the theatre district to see anyone - David and I are now heading out dinner with some of his friends.  Tonight's cuisine: Korean.  And then I believe we're going to take a stroll along Halsted - a.k.a. Boystown.  -I mean, when in Rome... ;)
