Today was Youth Sunday, where the youth plan and execute the service.

Ok. I'm waiting.

Youth is wasted on the young?

DR Matt H., whenever I don't know what to watch, I pull out THE SOUND OF MUSIC.

What a coincidence!  If every other movie in the world disappeared, I still wouldn't pull out THE SOUND OF MUSIC.

I'll drink to that!
I always figured if DR Elmore was on the news it would be for a much more exciting story.  8)

I always expect to end up on the front page for killing you whenever you come to visit.

Not exactly the balcony scene from ROMEO AND JULIET!

It's Romeo and the Houseguest from Bollywood Hell!

Since it is your balcony, wouldn't that make you Juliet?

It makes me a fool to put up with him!

 I thought you put him up.

singdaw - You sure you don't want to sing one of the many drafts of "So Much Butter" :)

I would, but I'm not sure I can carry off the outfit that goes with it.

Betty Botter bought some butter,
"But," she said, "the butter's bitter;
If I put it in my batter,
It will make my batter bitter;
But a bit of better butter,
That would make my batter better."

So she bought a bit of butter,
Better than her bitter butter,
And she put it in her batter,
And the batter was not bitter;
So 'twas better Betty Botter
Bought a bit of better butter.

I went to nbc.com and watched the clip. They were definitely in my bodega; there's a shot outside the market at the corner of 82nd and Amsterdam and several interior shots inside.. I did not see myself, though.

Just a clip?

The whole program was actually devoted to the lottery scams. Most of it in California but some footage looked like NYC.

The maybe Elmoore spotting happened right at the end of the program as they were wrapping up the show.

SO MAYBE JUST IN CASE OUR WEST COAST FRIENDS

Can watch the show or tape and see if it is our DR Elmoore caught by the news cameras.

I had a nice evening of viewing. I began with THE TRANSPORTER. I've never seen this movie in its entirety. COmpletely over-the-top action and stunt fighting, but at 90 minutes, it's just the right length. I could have done without the superfluous sex scene in the middle of the film.

The Blu-ray was not a reference quality transfer, but the sound design (DTS-HD MA 5.1) was terrific.

And, of course, Jason Statham is always a pleasure to look at with his shirt off.

For some reason, the DVD player didn't resume at the place where I stopped in THE SOUND OF MUSIC, so I just took it out and put in IT'S A GREAT FEELING. I simply LOVE the bright, bouncy score for this movie. The plot's ridiculous, of course, but the songs are all just great tunes. Can't believe none of them ever became a standard (even though the title song was nominated for an Oscar; it's NOT the best song in the score).

Funny you should mention what you wantch when you don't know what to watch, DR td, because I have two discs that I pull out for that purpose: LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME and BRIGADOON. Tonight I pulled out LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME and watched about a half hour of it. Always love this movie.

Before my evening of prime time started, I watched Thursday night's SMALLVILLE. I liked this episode SO much more than last week's silly adventure with Lois as a superhero. Lois wasn't even there this week, and she wasn't missed.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES had some interesting stories. I didn't care for Tom and Lynette's plot at all. Gabby's was interesting though trying to reason with a child of six and giving in to her as they did to try to prove a point seemed a bit much to me.

Nice to see Jackson again with a surprising proposal. The highlight, of course, was Richard Burgi's return to the show. Looks like it will be an extended arc, and that's always good news.

And I enjoyed BROTHERS & SISTERS tonight a lot. The scene between Justin and Rebecca at the end brought tears to my eyes, and it's funny because this time last year, I was violently against them being a couple. Now they seem made for each other.

  After today's church service, I have little to say.

It must have been a Laura DR special.

I'm hoping DRLaura had little input into today's service-- it's services like that that kept me away form the church for 40 years!
