Listening to some CDs.  My meeting has been moved up to 3:45 and I don't really need to do the walk-through.  I was hoping we could meet somewhere more convenient than the theater, but that's where we're meeting.

My pal, Harlan Ellison, wrote what many consider the best episode of all time, CITY ON THE EDGE OF FOREVER...and won the WGA award for it.

Directed by our Bialystock's father, I might add.

Some interesting TV renewal tidbits:

BONES returns to Thursdays at 8 where it will be followed by FRINGE.

Hooray for FRINGE!

Quote
DOLLHOUSE has been renewed and will remain on Fridays at 9.

Hooray for DOLLHOUSE!

Quote
COLD CASE has been renewed, but THE UNIT and WITHOUT A TRACE may not be.

I can't say that last show surprises me being on the bubble.  Last week's episode truly sucked.

Quote
SAMANTHA WHO? has been canceled (they have 7 unaired episodes to burn off, presumably this summer).

Never should have been resurrected without a complete overhaul.

Richard passed his stress test with flying colors and is now home from the hospital with orders to TAKE IT EASY.

Thanks to DRs Cillaliz, Kerry, Jose, and George for the vibes that arrived while I was away.

I had a spinach salad with chopped boiled eggs and chipotle chicken strips for lunch today.  It was all tossed in a light dash of olive oil.

I've also consumed two bananas.

Yesterday, I bought four largish chicken thighs.  I removed the skin, soaked them in buttermilk for about an hour and then fried them with a generaous Bisquick coating.

The two I ate for lunch yesterday were scrumptious.   The other two are for din-din, along with two huge slices of an heirloom tomato I bought and peeled yesterday.

There may also be grilled asparagus.  Depends upon my hunger level at the time.

I reduced my DVR cache from 74% on Saturday morning to 22% yesterday afternoon.

I now have the two-hour "Desperate Housewives" finale to contend with.

The rest of my cache is a slew of TCM movies.  Among them is NO LONGER that bogus print that was a retitle of "Rainbow 'Round My Shoulder."  UGH!

I longed for a modest 1951 British mystery and got a Columbia-Frankie Laine programmer. Yuckity-yuck-yuck!

I'm thinking about going for a walk along Lake Merritt.

The temperature is right, but I'm not sure about my mindset.

TOD - Richard and Rob got me into The Next Generation, Voyager, and Enterprise.  The two of them went to 2 Star Trek conventions and I went to the second one with them.  They came home from the first one with a sewing pattern for a uniform that was beyond my capabilities and just making the top almost gave my mother-in-law, an accomplished seamstress, a nervous breakdown.  But, she pulled it off and with black sweatpants made a great Halloween costume for Rob that year (he was Geordi LaForge).

At the event I attended, George Takai was the special guest and Rob (then age 12) won an autographed photo of Gates McFadden (Dr. Crusher) for answering the most trivia questions correctly on stage.

The Enterprise theme became Rob's "anthem" when he was in high school.  He even used it as his signature music at his Eagle Scout court of honor.  Hearing it still makes me cry (in a good, proud-mother sort of way).

The Voyage Home is my favorite movie, too, although I also like First Contact a lot.

Maybe this week, while we're taking it easy, Richard and I will go see the new movie.

Page 6 is looming.

It isn't looming as largely as it might, but I'm certain will get there sooner rather than later.

Not many Star Trek fans were fond of that song as the main title for "Enterprise", Ginny.  They wanted something along the lines of what Jerry Goldsmith wrote for "Voyager."

Still....it grows on you.  And I'm a big fan of "Archer's Theme", which is the music written for the end titles of each episode.
