Well -

Today is the day that the California Supreme Court will proclaim whether Jayson and I are indeed lawfully married, or if we're simply living together in sin.      ;)

Re: THE GAUNTLET

I've always felt that, if it wasn't for the last 15 minutes when the movie turns totally ridiculous, this could have been one of Eastwood's best action movies.

Morning all. It's a very busy day in the neighborhood. I have files to work on, a 2-hour rehearsal at 3:30 this afternoon for a Thursday presentation. I have to do someone else's report because they are out this week. I have meeting at 3 which I have to leave early because of the 3:30 rehearsal so it's gonna be a long day.

Good morning, all! It's Tuesday but seems lke Monday and I really do hate long weekends. I miss unexpected holidays in the middle of the week, like Memorial Days and July 4's used to be. Of course, I work for myself most of the time and no longer have a Monday-Friday work week with a weekend to look forward to, but I do dislike long weekends. Especially when they fall on an invoice weekend which means my payment is held off by 2 or 3 more days.

Today, MOST HAPPY FELLA. The current Moross deadline is over, but it was a bitch of a piece to proofread from the composer's manuscript; much as I like his music, he drives me crazy at times because he insists on writing in no key, which necessitates that he dictate all accidentals. Sometimes he forgets from one bar to the next and you're left reyling on theory, earlier patterns, and you're own taste to determine what he wanted. I'm hopng to get a copy of his 1941 Symphony No 1 to check for suspicious notes in this 2-piano reduction he did before his death.

Off to work!

Dear DAW, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  I'll be sad if California goes back to the dark ages.

Tuesday morning greetings!  I'm simmering chicken that I will fry later for dinner - it smells good already!

My calendar is pretty clear this week, so I'm going to gather more stuff to take to the AAUW garage sale site.  Today:  my closet!

My topic is WHY BLU-RAY?  I've made a considerable investment in DVDS and Videos over the years.  As someone who grew up watching old movies on TV cut-up with commercials, static, and shadows, the pictures I currently get on my system are just fine with me.  I refuse to deal with any more planned obsolesence designed to pick my pocket getting me to buy stuff I already have.  All technology must now stop until I'm dead.

Thanks for all the vibes - but I am still feeling terrible.....I can just imagine my state IF I had not received the patented HHW vibes!  I might be at Carlisle & Son.

Such lovely photos yesterday.

I saw a documentary last night about Harlan Ellison, friend of DR CP.

It was titled DREAMS HAVE SHARP TEETH and was most interesting.

Mr Ellison is an angry man it seems - most of his life is about confrontation and nobody is right about anything except him....and that's a difficult way to live.  I certainly think he is one of the best writers ever - I used to watch him now and then on interview shows and never got a good impression of him as a person.  And finally decided I would just read his stories and criticism and not watch him on television.  Hearing him talk, I didn't think that if we were ever to come into contact that he would like me very much - and vice versa.

But I would still recommend his books and stories to everyone.

Good morning!

It was cloudy this morning and appeared to be another day filled with rain (we had 2 1/2 inches yesterday), but now the clouds have cleared, and it's beautiful outside. That doesn't mean we can't have rain later, but right now, it seems not.
