Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both fruitful and fruity, and now it is time for you to post until the fruity cows come home.

With the aspect ratio of 16:9, this monitor offers more room for multitasking. Additionally, supporting full HD resolution of up to 1920 x 1080 and 5 ms response time, this LCD Monitor offers you a vivid picture quality. Also, its programmable custom key gives you instant one-touch access to the picture optimization technology. In addition to high dynamic contrast ratio, the MagicBright, MagicColor, Color Effect and image size functionalities, you can easily adjust the picture quality. With all these features and more, the 2333SW lends distinctive style and sophistication to your desk and compliments your lifestyle.

Topic of the Day:  anything that Fredric Brown wrote.

Otherwise, "The Sword of Shannara" by Terry Brooks.  I loved this book and the next several in the series.  I started reading them in high school, but there got to be too many for me to keep up with, so I stopped.

TOD:

While the writing is sometimes a bit dorky, the world and rules created by Robert Jordan in The Wheel of Time series is very interesting.

I am feeling better and working today.....my only work day this week, since tomorrow is the Open House for the theatre.  We shall see how things go.

Hopefully we won't have lots of crazy people today....but I am not optimistic.

I guess Atlas Shrugged would fit the TOD, although it was firmly based in some type of reality....hmmmmmmmm.....

I guess I will say 1984.

DR George that is terrible that your ABC station is not showing PUSHING DAISIES at any time. I'm glad someone can record it for you.  Right now the only way i have to copy is to VCR. My digital only records to my tv.

I am really looking forward to seeing all the ABC cancelled shows (ELI STONE and DIRTY SEXY MONEY too).  Hopefully they'll give a good recap. Cause i can't really remember where any of the series are.

BK, I didn't bother to see LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN, because I am a huge fan of the graphic novel, the premise of which takes several iconic fictional figures from late 19th-early 20th century adventure/fantasy fiction and brings them altogether...figures from the books of Rider Haggard, Sax Rohmer, Conan Doyle, etc.  many of which I have collected and read since I was a boy.  When I heard about changes that were going on I knew the movie would be no good.  But the graphic novel is clever and a great lot of fun.

TOD:  This one's easy.  The Discworld novels of Terry Pratchett.  Essentially comic fantasy, they transcend the genre and are some of the funniest, fall out of bed laughing, smartest satires ever written.  They can also be moving and poignant as well.  During the Bush era,  I used to evoke a quote from Mr. Pratchett's novel THUD:  "You can't call yourselves the good guys and do bad things."

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I've actually been up since 8:00.  Just stayed in bed listening to NPR's Weekend Edition.  Had to make sure I got out of bed before "Car Talk" began - or I'd never leave my room today. ;)

And I really do want to leave my room since it's supposed to be another gorgeous day here in NYC!  I sense a lot of walking and wondering will be in my future. For today, at least.

DR TCB, I loved the photo! If you have more, please post them.

TOD:
I haven't read much fantasy since I was a child, so I can only think of four locales:
      1. Oz
      2. Wonderland
      3. Looking Glass World
      4. Jurassic Park
