Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And it's raining (again) here in NYC. Which makes it a good day to stay apartment-bound to take care of some cleaning, organizing, futzing, etc.  Or just surf the interwebs all day.  We shall see...

DR Jose, re: your comments yesterday on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS.

I have never seen Mary Jane's alter ego before, and i've been watching for a while. I mean obviously i've heard her mentioned many times through the years. I wonder if it's been like 20 years since she was last on.

I really find her creepy to watch and wonder what she's planning to do. At first i thought she would kidnap sharon's baby. Then i thought maybe little summer. Although on today's US show (we get it a day before here) she made a much more interesting proclamation which may make me like her!

DR Jennifer - I think it has been around 20 years since that character's last appearance on "Y&R".  I may have to investigate further.

And the word of the day is: SOREDEMO.  Our first Japanese word of the day.  Points for anyone who translates.

I guess someone has been catching up on their Academy Award Foreign Language Film submissions.

Okay. Off to the East Side.

DR elmore - I hope the rain "cooperates" with your commute to and from the East Side today.

Oh, and yesterday's menu was:
two-colored gazpacho with tomato tartar and pesto
chicken breast or skatefish
white and dark chocolate checkerboard cheescake with raspberry coulis.

What were the two colors of the gazpacho? Yellow and Red?

TOD:  I would love to stop my penchant for procrastination.

ELMORE:  I have been a life-long nail-chewer.  But in the last ten years or so, I have gone through long bouts where I don't bite them down to the nub.  I've been in one of those periods for the last several months, and have nice nails right now.  Still when they need trimming, I don't clip them, but nibble them down.

BK:  Went to the new KRITZERLAND site.  Looks Faboo!

Bad habits?

I've broken my worst one: biting my nails. I just woke up one morning about thirty years ago, decided it was a nasty habit, and have never done it again.

I've never smoked, and I only drink lightly, so that's not a problem.

I suppose I need to break the habit of buying so many DVDs as I have more now than I'll probably ever get to watch more than a few times, but there always seem to be favorites that still await release, and when they come out, I can't help myself.

Nice the Emmys can be so flexible. The Oscars would almost never dream of doing that except in a national crisis or emergency.

I received my Passport today - just about three weeks after applying.  I had to call because my birth certificate was NOT included in the envelope, and Sarah the government employee told me that those documents were mailed one day later for security purposes.  SO if you apply for a passport, don't be alarmed if your ID documents do not arrive with it.

I now have some new words in my Musical Theatre Vocabulary.  One of my very favorite definitions is:

Dance Call:  A place where Sondheim Actresses humiliate themselves.

The story about the guy who dressed up as his late mother for fraud purposes is now being referred to on CNN as similar to TOOTSIE, rather than the similarity to PSYCHO being talked about yesterday - TOOTSIE is a better analogy, i think, since for the real-life guy it was all about money concerns.
Are you writing a song on this?

I've been up since eight-thirty, printing out orders, and I'm happy to say that so far Show Girl is doing very well.
