Who are these total strangers following me on Twitter and why can't I block them?

That happens sometimes--there's some kind of lag on Twitter's part but eventually they go away if you block them.

Normally when I get a follower and I don't know who they are, I look at their profile.  If they have a web address that is just a tinyurl, that's a sure sign that they are a spammer.  Also, if they are following over a thousand people but have less than a hundred followers, that's a tip off, too.  Also look at their tweets--if they seem on the genaric side like "I'm watching TV" or "Just ate lunch"--if there doesn't seem to be any kind of personality behind them--block their butts!

Dr Munshi says they're fine and I need to be working with an allergy mask. I'll buy one today.

DR JRand58, I just ordered Ian Kelly's book on Careme, the chef. He has a new biography of Casanova getting good reviews. Here's his website:

The price of gas in France

A thief in Paris planned to steal some paintings from the Louvre.

After careful planning, he got past security, stole the paintings, and made it safely to his van.

However, he was captured only two blocks away when his van ran out of gas.

When asked how he could mastermind such a crime and then make such an obvious error, he replied, 'Monsieur, that is the reason I stole the paintings.'

I had no Monet.

To buy Degas.

To make the Van Gogh.'

See if you have De Gaulle to share this with someone else.

I share it with you because I figured I had nothing Toulouse.

DR George - Yep, Romeo and Juliet can be quite the long evening in the theatre. The trick is to make it not seem like a long evening in the theatre.

*And I've seen some severely cut versions of various Shakespeare plays that almost seemed like they added dialogue instead due to the indulgent pacing and/or stylized direction. L-o-n-g, b-o-r-i-n-g.

I am, I believe, up.  If you heard what was going on next door you'd be up, too.  Now that I am up they've literally stopped the noise.  One more morning of this and I will be calling the guy in charge of this project because they are INSANE.

It's called construction. It's work. When it's quiet, that usually means they're not working. And the more they're "not working", the longer the process will take. Etc., etc., etc...

Just what kind of work are they doing now? Have they started putting up the new house?

As for the Topic of the Day...

I would like to see someone else have another go at "The Color Purple".  Maybe Jeanine Tesori in her non-Pop mode.  And have it incorporate "God is tryin' to tell you something" from the movie.

Maybe a stage adaptation "Brideshead Revisited" with Noel Coward and Ivor Novello songs inserted at various points as commentary.  ???

I just had a wonderful lunch of tuna salad on 9-grain bread, 3-bean salad, beets and a hardboiled egg.

Shortly, I'm off to the post office to mail two packages and a walk around the neighborhood.

Just ordered Kelly's Casanova book from an Amazon seller.  Not sure I would like the CHEF bio....but who knows....

There are still about five copies of the Beau Brummell book on the shelf at my local Dollar Tree......

They might make lovely opening night gifts . . .

I just chopped up four peppers for salad and snacks, and I think I'll nap for a minute before my walk to the post office.
