SInce it was cool out this morning, I did a bit of yard work (cutting back some bushes that were starting to take over), but I really wasn't out too long.

I will be working on MADE IN U.S.A. by Godard this afternoon. Not ever having seen it, it will be an adventure. It's in color, so that will be different, too.

I'm not surprised SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER looks good on Blu-ray. When I reviewed the last DVD release (which had a new high definition transfer downconverted to 480p), it looked by far the best I had ever seen the film look. I don't remember it looking nearly that good when I saw it at the theater.

I forgot to mention last night in recapping my viewing that I did watch the POIROT mystery MRS. McGINTY'S DEAD. I had read the book years ago and didn't remember it, but, of course, having seen Margaret Rutherford's MURDER MOST FOUL (which was based on just enough of the book to give away the deception Christie uses to mask her killer), I had no trouble figuring out the murderer well before the revelation.

Still, it's wonderfully done, and featured two superb character actresses: Sian Phillips and Zoe Wannamaker.

Here is the answer....what is the question:

Dr. Liviingston I presume.

If the actor who played Ernie on MY THREE SONS grew up and went to medical school, what would we most likely be calling him now?

Worksite still wasn't up as of a few minutes ago. Got a note from my boss this morning saying 10 a.m. was the projected time of startup of the new site, but that has come and gone. Of course, moving over such a huge website is time consuming and I'm sure fraught with problems. I have no trouble being patient.

Close.....

But the question is:

What is your full name, Dr. Presume?

I'm looking forward to receiving SHOW GIRL. Unlike ANYA (which I loved, BTW), I never had an LP of SHOW GIRL, so I'll be hearing it for the very first time when it finally arrives.

At the time Saturday Night Fever was released, Paramount release prints were the worst-looking of any studios release prints - grainy and ugly, made from sub-standard internegatives.  So, some of these new transfers, which are coming from the original camera negatives, make the film look like it should for the first time ever.

Didn't Connie Francis have an early hit with "A'Hammerin' and A'Yammerin'"?

Stephen Sondheim's ROAD SHOW has just arrived at my desk in the now customary heavy-stock sleeve and umpteen-page booklet containing every lyric of the show.  Neither the sleeve nor the booklet look anything like the poster art that was associated with the show, which to my mind, had nothing to do with the show to begin with.

DR Elmore isn't around right now, but I'm curious if he's come across any information in the McGlinn inventory about the sales of the discs he worked on.

Was SHOW BOAT his biggest hit or did something else sell more?

Now, I must head downstairs to check the mail (I think I heard the UPS truck when I was in the middle of my workout). Then, I'll start thinking about what's for lunch.

Can you make a safe little area for your cat while you are gone?  Somewhere less stressful, a bit quieter, and away from a falling ceiling?

Vibes while you go through this!

DR Matt, I agree with you regarding THE CLOSER, excellent episode and the young actor did a superb job.

DR Cilla I’m shocked you don’t have a will.  Heck, you don’t even have to pay a fortune to have one written for you ;)
