This may or may not have been posted here before, but, if it has been, it's worth a second viewing. ;)

Disneyland Musical Marriage Proposal

The word from Main Street USA is that both members of the couple are "Cast Members" Disney employees.  Since John had to make all sorts of arrangements as well as clear some "clearances", the powers-that-be at Disneyworld were allowed and able to film the proposal - and a multi-camera shoot at that.  I actually think I know some of the back-up singers too.

We were sitting outside enjoying the summer evening.  Sherlock was enjoy a large stick so we decided to come in, only he refused to do so.  That is until Keith said "it is time for dessert", at which point he jumped up and ran to the door.

Topic of the Day...in my CD player right now at work:  Dessa Rose by Lynne Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

I am not familiar with this musical and I do like Ahrens & Flaherty, What is the story line?

DR Michael S - If you click on the link that DR George provided - which goes to its Amazon.com listing, you'll find a pretty good synopsis provided by the first reviewer.

I'm just amazed that it's already been four years since that was at Lincoln Center.

Thornton Wilder describes Dolly Levi as a woman of "uncertain age."

That describes most of us. Probably because we all lie about our ages.

I had a delightful night with three items either completely viewed or in the process of being viewed.

I began with TAKEN AT THE FLOOD, the POIROT mystery from a few years ago. I didn't remember this one at all, but it is a fine mystery, and I quite enjoyed it. Surprising set of murderers, too.

That was most entertaining and enlightening DR FRANCOIS.

Next I watched STRANGE INTERLUDE, one of the Warner Archive discs that's been gathering dust in the last month or so since I've been so busy.

My goodness they had ridiculous notions about age back then. When Shearer and Gable's child is seven, they have them with more than half of their hair gray (though Shearer still looks very glamorous and chic). By the time he graduates from college, they're stooped with age, completely white-haired, and almost feeble, looking almost like his grandparents rather than his parents.

The picture started out filled with white speckles, but later on, it clears up and does look bad at all for a 1932 movie. The sound, of course, is horribly hissy.

And I concluded my evening with '1776.' I only got through the end of the debate and postponement of the vote right before "But, Mr. Adams." I'll continue with it tomorrow while I eat lunch.

It's very cloudy and getting breezy. Severe weather reports east of Phoenix. We hopefully will get our first monsoon storm tonight!

There's some speculation that this new article in Vanity Fair may be a reason for the resignation.  Some good dish here!

"and you'd be beautiful and Palin looks too much like her"

"His skin was Palin, his eye was odd"

"ah miss look at you look at you, Palin, ivory-skin"

(almost a few Sweeney Todd references)

DR François - A semi-random question for you:

What is the French word/term for "ice cream toppings" - things like chopped nuts, sprinkles, jimmies, hot fudge, etc.?  Would "accoutrements" work?
