Another play for DR Michael Shayne's list:

MARVIN'S ROOM

Marvin(I beleve) is in the Play

My memory of the play is that he is talked about and never seen. I haven't seen the film version but, knowing Hollywood, I would suspect there's a scene by his deathbed.

Hume Cronyn plays Marvin in the movie and while the role wasn't built up for him, he is plainly seen in the bedroom sceens.

Thanks, DAW.  The emergency continues, but I think the deadline will be met.

There is a book titled The Ship and the Storm - it is about Windjammer cruiser FANTOME that sailed into a hurricane never to be found.

Many thanks to DR ELMORE who recommended the DVD of IM WEISSEN ROSSL.  I have never IN MY ENTIRE LONG LIFE seen anything like it!

The venue...I guess called the Morbisch...is a HUGE HUGE outdoor auditorium....the stage must be the size of a football field or more.  The operetta itself is hilarious.  The costumes are gorgeous....the singing glorious....and dancing and staging is imaginative - one might say fantastic.  It never stops!

I love this DVD and look forward to the other one I also ordered.  And as you might expect in a German operetta....we also get slap dancing and yodeling.

I have only watched one half of the show....and I looked forward to the conclusion.

Jane, Jane won't let us hold them for long yet. They still yowl if we pick them up for too long. They are still very young -- about three weeks.

DR JRand58, I am so happy you are enjoying it! Wait until the Emperor Joseph II shows up to hunt. I suspect the Morbisch Festival is like the old Jones Beach shows with a huge stage built on the water. I can't imagine how the audience sees anything from such a distance.

We got some rain this afternoon, not a sprinkle but a real thunderstorm, and it rained about half an hour.

No review package today, so I was on my own again.

I began my afternoon with skimming through today's THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. Adam had some scenes, and, of course, Nikki had to talk about what she saw in other scenes (not with Adam, however). But no Rafe and no Phillip.

Then I watched another VERONICA MARS episode. I did remember seeing this episode before but I didn't remember the identity of the guilty party in the little mystery of the episode. Paris Hilton was the guest star. Not a good actress, but better than some of her contemporaries have been when they've guest starred on various shows.

Then I began watching THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY, but I didn't have the regular soundtrack turned on. Instead I'm listening to the audio commentary with Angela Lanbsury. I want her to talk about her Oscar nomination and what it was like going to the ceremony, but so far, the nominations has only been mentioned in passing, that she along with the art direction was nominated and that Harry Strandling won for the extraordinary cinematography. I had never noticed all the deep focus work in this movie until I saw it on this DVD.

(I previously had only the VHS tape wich might not have shown off the photography quite so splendidly as this upconverted DVD is doing.)

I haven't finished the movie. I think there's about 25 minutes left.

I haven't decided what movie I'm going to watch tonight. I must leave some time to watch BURN NOTICE starting around 9:30 or so.

This is re: thurs US Y&R so don't read if you haven't watched (for DR Jose, unless he doesn't care)

No review package today, so I was on my own again.

I"m not sure if you fast forwarded thru the end. But my tv's guide had this listing (which i don't normally read) which said "this week deacon sharpe comes to town".

Now this name means nothing to me. But yesterday that guy who is framing daniel (and who met with victoria) is deacon sharpe. ANd they showed the previews where he met amber and something was fishy. So i typed in the name and apparently he was a big character on The Bold & the Beautiful (are we supposed to know this?).

I called my doctor and left a second phone message since she's not called back.

Waiting for her will delay my trip to the market.

Well, Mom and I never made it to Dorothy Lane Market, but we did have a delightful time at Pier One and Panera.

Well, I have concluded my afternoon internet surf, so I need to head on down and think about what I'm going to watch once THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY is concluded.

No.  I thought about it, but there weren't enough shows that I wanted to see. :-\ Were you thinking about it?
