And speaking of Twitter...

This Tweet most definitely caught my eye today:

@BreakingNews - A 15-year-old girl fell into an uncovered sewer manhole in New York while texting. She is currently recovering from her injuries.

Next think you know there'll be a law against walking while texting

Law or no law, common sense should prevail, but then, common sense does not seem to be universal!!

Truer words were never typed

So, does NBC own The Weather Channel?   All the promos for Al Roker getting a Weather Channel show are NBC personalities...at least I think they are

DR Cillaliz - You're welcome.

*There was a follow-up joke on Twitter to that story:

Bloomberg to impose "falling into sewer tax"

They're lucky he doesn't impose a stupidity tax.

Maybe he should; it would pay off the city's debts in no time.

In other news...  In short:

I met up with my friend, John, for lunch at Manhattan Bagel.  Then Central Park, Petrossian, The Parker Meridien (Burger Joint), Steinway Hall (where we sort of got kicked out?), MoMA, Columbus Circle.

Then I headed on down to Shubert Alley for Broadway Barks.  Bernadette Peters, Mary Tyler Moore, Angela Lansbury, Rupert Everett, Greg Jbara, Michael Cerveris, Gavin Creel, Will Swenson, Audra McDonald, etc., etc., etc.  A lots and lots of cute dogs and cats.

Then some snacks at Junior's with some friends who were also at Broadway Barks, then back up Broadway to Fairway for some grocery shopping.  And since I happened to be nearby, a stop at Salumeria Rosi for some prosciutto and parmacotto and Grom for some Raspberry and Peach sorbetto. :)  -I guess I was just in the mood for some Italia.

DR George - Glad to hear you had a good audience last night.  -Just out of curiosity, do you happen to know what the seating capacity is for the theatre you're playing in?

Is there a story about being kicked out of Steinway Hall?

Not really.

I just think today was a "bad day" for one of the sales clerks/secretaries.  They had one of their "Saturdays at Steinway" this morning, and when we got there, we could hear a couple of people trying out pianos, and it looked like they were gearing up for a studio recital in one of the salons.  I'm guessing she was hoping for some peace and quiet today.  She was "kind" when asked us to leave, but she phrased it interestingly:

"You play beautifully, but I'm afraid we will all have to leave now and clear out."

I'm still feeling odd - and I think I'll take a nice long shower to puzzle things out.

IN THE FRENCH STYLE was a most intriguing Jean Seberg vehicle.  Dialog - courtesy Irwin Shaw - and some very handsome leading men (Viscount) Phillipe Forquet and Stanley Baker.

Nice Paris locations, and a score that was only wrong some of the time.

Stanley Baker as American (!) newspaperman Walter:  I have to go to Tripoli for three days.
Seberg as American model/painter/partygirl: You're never around long enough for a girl to get tired of you.
Baker: My main attraction.

Seberg in bed with her first lover: So how old are you?
Phillippe Forquet as Guy: Sixteen.  I lied.
Seberg: Why?
Forquet: If I had told you the truth, you would never have looked at me.
Seberg: No wonder you only drank Coca Cola at dinner.

Addison Powell as Jean's father:  I want you to come home. Paris is an education, and you have to know when to quit school.
Jean to her father:  Fathers and fellows look for different things in a girl.

And much more......too bad there has been no release of this film.  Jean is so beautiful, Baker is handsome in his simian way, and Forquet in his debut is nearly if not MORE beautiful than Jean.

I prefer to keep my online life and my personal life separate.

For better or worse, my online life is my personal life.
