Enjoyed reading bk's take on UP. I will be reviewing the Blu-ray when it's released this fall, I'm assuming, and I'm looking forward to seeing it. His description of the environment while watching the movie, however, is the very reason why I won't be heading to my local theater to see it there.

And this edition of the paperback, although the newer ones are nice too.

Emmy nominations were announced this morning and there were BIG surprises:

No best comedy nominations for UGLY BETTY, THE BIG BANG THEORY, TWO AND A HALF MEN, or DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. Instead, FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS and WEEDS and FAMILY GUY and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER landed in the category.

No best drama nominations for GREY'S ANATOMY, THE SHIELD, RESCUE ME, '24,' THE MENTALIST, BURN NOTICE, THE CLOSER, or TRUE BLOOD. Instead, only two network shows (LOST and HOUSE) are represented with the other nominees coming from cable: BIG LOVE, MAD MEN, DEXTER, DAMAGES, BREAKING BAD.

Nice to see Jim Parsons finally win a nomination (Best Comedy Actor) but I was very disappointed for the actors in THE SHIELD, all of whom did award-winning work and who lost out to less deserving nominees.

You're welcome! I'm always happy when the little reminder most mornings helps folks (other than me, of course) remember something they wanted to see.

I'm up, I'm up.  Unlike yesterday when, for whatever reason, there was only silence in the morning (the one morning I needed to arise at seven), today has been a festival of noise.

DR TCB - we were referring the June Kenney star of ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE, TEENAGE DOLL, and SORORITY GIRL.....oh and CAT BURGLAR.....who has some residuals at SAG.....  She has not provided them with a current address....

Allison's case is to be expected, she's been dead since 1977....Ms. Kenney is a mystery.  All books that contain interviews with her co stars say they enjoyed working with her, she was very serious about her acting.....but no one knows where she is.

Good morning, everyone.

Thanks for all those who sent me vibes last week, and I in turn send them to

LARRY--vibes for your aching bod

GINNY'S BIL for a successful surgery

TCB for resolution of all that ails you.

BTW, the doctor who's been helping me so much is having surgery herself today and I do hope that that goes well. After FINALLY finding a doctor who listens and can help me, I don't want to lose her! Vibes would be appreciated.

The noise is HERE today, Bruce. I think the gardeners have a contest to see who can make the most noise.

It sounds like you may have had what is termed DEEP SCALING, Bruce. It is indeed much more than the usual cleaning.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I've been up for a little while since I had a call at 8:45am... "We need someone at 9:30 to play for 20 minutes.  Could you come in?  We'll pay you for a half-day."

Now that is a good alarm clock!

bk - You're gums will recover sooner than you think.  In the meantime, it's always a good time to get a new toothbrush after you've had a good cleaning/scaling.

They were "tweeting" the Emmy nominations this morning, and I kept scrolling back looking for some of the shows and actors that I thought were going to be shoe-ins.  But I am happy for "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad".

And as I left the rehearsal hall, I came across the Blue Bunny Ice Cream street team handing out free samples of their new "Double-Strawberry Sedonas" - frozen yogurt ice cream sandwiches.  Quite tasty, and somewhat nutritious too!  Free Breakfast!

*Thanks again, DR Cillaliz for tipping me off to their promo.  They'll actually be back this afternoon handing out more Champ Cones and t-shirts. I may have to return for "lunch". ;)

In the meantime, I'm currently camping out in a Starbucks where...

I'm sitting next to what I thought was a "Broadway publicist" and her client.  Well, it turns out that "she" is a theatrical agent and "he" is an actor.

"She" does not know anything about the current crop of shows or actors.  However, "he" does.  "She" keeps reading down the list of breakdowns, and keeps asking "What show is this? Who is that?"  Thankfully(?), "he" knows all those answers.  Of course, if she just happened to go to the homepage of Playbill.com - and her laptop is on the table - she would know the answers to half of the questions she's asking.  However...

"She" keeps assuring "him" that she will send him for the right projects.  Of course, I just heard her laugh out loud at the title of Superior Donuts - "I would never send you in for something with that title!" - and she mentioned a production of August Wilson's Fences that she thought her client would be right for. "He" is in his mid-50s, white and Jewish.  :-\
