I've been having a fun day visiting with relatives I haven't seen since I was 10 or 11. I also heard some family stories I never heard before. I think my mother also never heard them to pass along.

DR Cillaliz - Speaking from experience: Those blades are sharp. Very sharp. If you do find yourself hand-washing them, you may want to invest in some of those "Orca" gloves to protect your fingers and hands.

It can't make you drowsy. So it can't be something like sudafed. Because things that cause drowsiness make me unable to function for like 24 hours.

Jennifer, there are several homeopathic sinus remedies available. I am currently taking one by Gripp-Heel. I used to take on by Natura-Bio, which I swore by. Both are very good--effective and no side-effects. You should be able to find one under $10 (US).

Thanks for reminding me of the homeopathic alternatives. For some reason i never remember to think of that!

You writing this reminded me that i have rhus toxicodendron, which i'm pretty sure is what i got for my lower back last year. It has been acting up again (not terribly). But it has been bothering me for a couple of weeks enough so that when i lift anything it hurts. Do you think it would help (what i have)?

Jennifer, Rhus Tox is known as the "rusty gate" remedy, meaning that it helps those muscle problems that feel better after movement. Arnica is the remedy of choice for acute sprains and bruises when they first occur. Rhus Tox is often prescribed a bit later--say, after a few days on Arnica. Since you have the Rhus Tox on hand and it helped before, I would give it a try.

To all who are experiencing muscular problems I would recommend 100 mg of magnesium daily, preferably taken on an empty stomach. It's estimated that 75% of North Americans have a magnesium deficiency, and I am convinced that it is responsible for many of the fibromyalgia cases, as well as playing a role in many others. There is very little downside. Many people swear by Epsom salt baths; Epsom salts are simply magnesium. A magnesium gel is also available, which is applied topically. Much has been published about the many benefits of magnesium, but unfortunately, the information has not been adequately disseminated.

I have been watching AIN'T MISBEHAVIN'--the British mini-series from the 1990's. I loved it. Lots of Big Band music and written by Bob Larbey, who wrote the PBS AS TIME GOES BY. Really a joy.

I have to make a very difficult decision about about our next release - as mentioned, I discovered the original score tracks (in mono) - fifty minutes of never before released music (this is part of the two-fer we'll be announcing next week, and this album was a re-recording). Once you've heard the original score tracks, the album is sort of a joke as all the music has been rearranged for the album and little of the dramatic scoring is there (think the Mancini albums from the 60s). So, I can put about sixteen minutes of bonus material, but that is basically only two tracks from the score, and the historian and collector in me wants to include everything - and the only way to do that is to do a standalone release on this one title - but the contract and check are already in and it would be a pain to change that and I don't want to be a pain. The other option is to go to two CDs and not raise the price - that's real value for money, I think - you still get the two-fer on one CD, and then on the second CD you get the entire original score tracks to one of the films. So, that's the decision I have to make - it would be easy except the costs go up for a two-CD set and since I wouldn't raise the price, my profit margin, which is slim, goes down. But if I can get my big online dealer to commit to at least 600 then I'll probably go that route.
