TOD:

My favorite reality show has always been THE MOLE, and I applied to be a contestant on it during its first incarnation at the start of this century. It was more brain-oriented than physically challenging like SURVIVOR, so I'm sorry I wasn't selected.

None of the present-day reality show are for me. (I'm not the kind of singer who would do well on AMERICA'S GOT TALENT.)

As for visiting the set of a current show, I'd probably pick THE CLOSER. The cast looks really tight, and it would seem to be a lot of fun. Two of the cast members are out gay actors so that would also make it appealing.

watching a film get made is like watching grass grow.

Agreed. While it may seem glamorous and exciting to be on a movie or television set it is mostly hurry up and wait and excruciatingly boring. I've been on both movie and television sets and they are great places to catch up on your reading or finish up business like balancing your checkbook or talking with friends (when you're not on the set).

Not sure about my work project today. I have DEXTER - Season Three on Blu-ray but I'm expecting a DVD of Elvis three appearances on THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW to review, and I suspect it comes out first. So, I may wait to get it.

And who knows what may be in today's mail that may require immediate attention.

I walked to Staples and back, carrying one crutch as a support if I needed it. The forms are faxed and I am back in one piece. I need a haircut and a trip to the post office, but I don't think either is on my agenda for today. Or tomorrow.

I can't imagine anyone not enjoying PLANET EARTH. The visuals are so spectacular, and it's educational served up with a candy coating.

We're off to the hospital soon to keep John's youngest daughter company.  He's going to have some kind of procedure today and she's there by herself - her mom has to work today and asked us to fill in.  Bye for now.

I'm up and trying to figure out if I should cancel my Continental flight and book JetBlue, where I can get the seat assignment I want.  The problem with that is that I cannot get the memory of my last JetBlue experience out of my head - the nine-hour delay in NY, where they were so disgusting and where, I found out, they were not responsible for anything - you're totally on your own in these matters, and since I've never had a problem on Continental, I'll probably stay put and keep trying to change my seat on the flight back home.

Why were you delayed on Jet Blue? Was it weather?

Yes, it was drizzling in NY, and throughout the country (or so they said).  I know that the only airport having problems was JFK (Continental flies from Newark, where I've never had a problem).  I'm lucky I got out at all, but for those who know me, having to sit in the airport for nine hours was complete and utter hell, as they cancelled flight after flight and kept pushing us back.  At least our flight wasn't cancelled, simply because they needed our plane in Burbank, so we knew we would eventually get there.

TOD:

In the spirit of the question, I think I would once have enjoyed being a contestant on "Big Brother".  Not any more, though.  Season 6 would have been the best season to be there, I think.  Since then, I've been only partially interested in it.

And as for TV sets....well, I would love to have visited the set of "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer", but if I had an opportunity to visit a set of a show currently in production, I think I'd choose "Supernatural".
