I'm really impatient.

Well, you're being slowed down a bit might explain why you didn't throw a shoe at the TV during Evan's shenanigans on Royal Pains Thursday.

der Brucer

I didn't throw a shoe, but I hurled many verbal epithets at him. I can't STAND his character.

I didn't like NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN either, and it broke my heart becuase Sean COnnery will always be James Bond to me, but this was a wretched, tired, dull adventure for Bond, and he and Kim Basinger had no chemistry at all.

DR JMK do you remember Herb Alpert on The Hollywood Palace in December 1967 with Brasilai '66 and Liza Minnelli?

Not only do I remember it, I have it on DVD mastered from the original 3/4" videotape.

I hope BK and other DRs will tolerate (not celebrate) my E&T-ness this week.  Family starts arriving for the big doin's on Friday and Saturday.  I shall try to drop by when I can.

We think we're going to try to do Cash for Clunkers, though our "clunker" is a 2002 Isuzu Axiom.  Not really a clunker per se but qualifies due to its low mileage.  That will mean for the first time ever in my life we will have two more or less new cars.  I think we'll look at the Ford Escape Hybrid today.

Brasilai '66 was of course a little known knockoff group.

Well, NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN may indeed be a wretched film, but it has a special place in my heart because of the Sergio/Lani connection.

At least I wasn't it charge of spelling on the record labels.  I had downloaded the program from the Inner Web - but since your copy is even better than mine, I won't offer you one.

Thanks for the thought DR ELMORE, but the cast was a bit off after that with little mistakes here and there....things that were never wrong before....so hopefully a nice audience of family and friends this afternoon will take care of it.  We don't sell season tickets for the matinee, so everyone attending is someone who REALLY wants to see the show...and bought a ticket....they are not there just because they have a subscription ticket.

Yesterday was furniture, today is a DVD player.

Anthony's parents gave us one about 4 years ago (not even if I recall correctly) but it overheats and stops working. I've finally gotten fed up with it so we are off to Best Buy (our only option unless we wait until Long Island for Target or Wal-Mart) to purchase a new one.

Planned obsolescence!!!

I remember the novelty toys in back of old comic books, but I never bought anything from those except Sea Monkeys, which were not a toy and were very disappointing.

Famous Monsters Magazine had the ginchiest noveltys. I think at one point I bought the spark spewing, walking, wind up Godzilla.

You know, I did buy a lot of foreign stamps and coins from the ads in various magazines. But those aren't novelties.

Oh, dear.  I was just sent this press release for an upcoming Fringe show -

FAR OUT-The New Sci-Fi Musical Comedy is a whacky and whimsical musical
valentine to all those grade B-sci-fi-alien-invasion movies Hollywood
made in the 1950's. It’s an intergalactic clash of worlds when the
alien Supreme Leader—a singing-eyeball-diva (with the legs and voice of
Tina Turner)—and her entourage encounter an atomic-age desert town in
the midst of the cold war, its local mad scientist, small town sheriff,
extreme-army Colonel, and Sock Hop-obsessed teens, not to mention a
pair of (literally) star-crossed young lovers.

www.faroutthemusical.com

I went and listened - happily, they went exactly to the land we avoided musically - 1950s land - there is no way to do that anymore - it's just been done to death.  Furthermore, they attempt to do exactly what we did in the opening number, only we did it three years ago (using movie titles in the song - the numbers, however, are completely different - and yes, they attempt a theremin - there's is fake - ours was real).  I gotta tell you.

I plan to spend today doing nothing but sitting in front of the television and watching some of my all time favorite movies.

On the docket:

REVENGE OF THE CREATURE (1955)

EARTH VS THE SPIDER (19580

THE RED HOUSE (1947)

THIS IS NOT A TEST (1962)

THESE THREE (1936)

GEISHA BOY (1958)

PANIC IN YEAR ZERO (1962)

THE MUMMY (1932)

Don't know if I will get to all of them, but I will have fun trying.

Good Morning!  Good Afternoon!

I'm up, I'm up... And it is Sunday.  -Although, for a little while this morning, I had almost thought it was Friday.  This past Friday.  Then the caffeine kicked in... All better now.

RE: Novelty Stores

When we lived in Gales Ferry, CT, we would regularly drive up to Boston to visit some relatives, and we would usually make a stop at The (Boston) Commons.  There was a magic store - the name escapes me right now - right by The Commons, and my brothers and I would always run in there and buy some magic trick or novelty item.  Usually, we would restock our supply of "Magic Jumping Bean" and Disappearing Ink.

Once again I will like thank DR Jose for all his help regarding the MAC. I did use google, but didn't know about Ask Google. It took a while, but I found the right program and the right information so that I can use IMOVIE. Now I have to learn how to edit and looking forward to it.

DR Michael S - And I "will" like to say, "You're welcome". ;)

And as for LMGTFY, well... It's just Google. With an "assist".

The LOST episode that contaned both a flashback and flashforward (Sun-Jin episode) was one of the greatest of the series. It was a HUGE surprise to me when that was revealed.

One of my favorite episodes too.  And still quite effective on repeated viewings.
