Very interesting notes and TOD.

I wish I knew what drives me to collect.  If I could turn that switch off, I'd have a lot less clutter and a much larger bank account.        :P

Oh me too!!!    And yet I really like most of what I have collected and have had fun doing it.

DR Druxy, I loved Al Hirschfield. He and his wife Dolly Haas were a lovely couple. I only met him a couple of times in the last two years of his life, but he was very sharp, informed, kind, and interested in a lot of things. They lived in abeautifl place in the East 80s, as I recall. I have a copy of his last book signed 12/05/91.

Dave Woodman, the artist I hired to do the caricatures for my ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD book, his mentor was Hirschfield.

Going to tidy a few things up in the office, and then I'll head down to get cleaned up for my outings today: lunch with John and movie with Hal.

Nice to get out of the huse after being a total hermit most of last week due to aches and pains.

Monday morning greetings!  We were up early and on the road to the hospital by 7am for what John's wife thought would be a family/physician summit about his condition and care.  By 10am it was clear that not all the physicians were willing to participate and we were sent home.  In great need of comfort food, we came home by way of Central Pastry.

I came very close to having Hirschfield do an original of - me.  It was back in 1998, I think.  I spoke to the lady who arranged for those things, told the price and how it worked, and I really thought about it for about two months, then, mostly due to cost, didn't do it.  I wish now that I had.  About five or seven years prior to that the cost wasn't so bad, but it had more than doubled by 1998 - still, it would have been worth it, and I could have done it and should have.

I'm up, not because of any noise, but because two gentlemen workers couldn't find anywhere else to converse but right near my bedroom window.  They conversed just long enough to make sure I was up and couldn't go back to sleep, then they moved on.

I found out at yesterday's matinee the show's producer actually told several people about CFC's rude, unnecessary and unprofessional call to the LA director, and was heartened to hear absolutely everyone in backing the musicians.

I have only recently gotten back into books a little - moving very slowly and only purchasing real bargains when I occasionally find them.  There are a couple of dealers on eBay who are now "favorites" and I check their stuff once a week - both have very good things and have my kind of books, and best of all the books are in excellent condition and very reasonably priced.

I've found from personal experience that simply getting up and screaming like a banshee in unintelligible shrieks right by your open window usually moves the conversation elsewhere.  I kid you not.

Most Blu-Rays and DVDs have been gotten through trading off stuff I didn't want anymore - the trading has served me very well.

And, of course, I've had to sell many things that I wished I hadn't had to - mostly due to the very costly, very unnecessary, and very spiteful lawsuit I was put through, only to be asked to "walk away", which I did.  Most of my great illustration paintings went back then, as I had to keep paying my lawyer's incredibly large fees for a year and a half.  That lawsuit cost me well into six figures and I hope the people who were responsible get their karmic justice, although the wealthy and entitled seem to have it just wash over them - maybe someday, because no one deserves to get away with such behavior.  But, those who've read my fictional novels know all about such behavior.

I just finished the Viola part for THE MOST HAPPY FELLA, Act Three, with only Cello and Bass to go before I start the Appendix numbers.

I will head down to Toyland now, hoping to be back here by 2:30. I did take the Vicodin and Flexerel this morning but i'm having a hard time getting my energy up to set out.

DR FJL, I'm sorry i'm missing your dinner with Rodzinski and DR Jose this evening; I hope you all have a good time. DR Matt H, enjoy the movie this afternoon.

BK, I'm not sure where you could watch LOST episodes.

As was mentioned ABC.com would have been my first place to suggest.

But they only have the last episodes.

If you do a yahoo/google search of "watch LOST online" there are lots of sites that claim you can watch the show. I just don't know if they are credible.

Coming this fall, I wonder if a certain DR will be attending. . .

Quote
Both WHV and TCM will be supporting partners in a 70th Anniversary
celebratory weekend to take place in Marietta, Georgia, just outside of
Atlanta and home of the "Marietta Gone with the Wind" Museum, Scarlett on
the Square.  The weekend - November 13-14 - is sure to draw fans far and
wide, and will consist of a gala re-premiere screening at the historic,
newly refurbished Strand theatre, hosted by TCM's Robert Osborne and
complete with red carpet, replica of the original theatre facade, vintage
cars from the '30s, and more. In addition, there will be a" Belles and
Beaus" costume ball and "Gone with the Wind" authors forum.

DR Jane - is your expression a reaction to the non-conference or to our stop at Central Pastry?   ;)

BK--if you are eager to watch the season 5 episodes of LOST, I could probably still download them from the binaries newsgroups (I've already did the first three episode for my sister) but I can't guarantee that they will be in HD quality, let alone Blu-Ray.
