DR Cilla, best of wishes to Edith on her new home.  It is nice to have good news today. :)

Ditto!!

She was SOOOO excited. They saved every last dime for their portion of the closing costs. She got an email this morning that their portion of the costs was much less than planned.  It was the closest I've ever seen her to doing a happy dance.

One of the nicest gestures tonight was from the sisters of John's first wife.  They set up in the downstairs lounge with meat & cheese trays, a fruit tray, a veggie tray, cookies and brownies, and beverages for family members.  It was nice to have a respite.

That really is very nice and a wonderful way to support their nieces (2-yes?)

Yes, John's 2 older daughters are their nieces.  They, along with John's first wife, looked after the 2 grandsons so their mother (oldest daughter, Rev. Amy) could be upstairs greeting people.

Very, very nice.

That's good news for Edith. I remember how excited we were when we closed on this house. Well, excited and scared (an "Into the Woods" reference).

I ordered a camera online from Fry's Electronics to pick up in the store. They sent me an email saying the store is out of stock. They don't have any idea when it will come in. Grrrrr.

Laura your quote make sme think of the Texas Toast they have in Canada - it was a wonderful double thick wheat bread - the waiter in the Saskatoon hotel looked at aus as if we were we were loonies because we were raving about the wonderfultoast they had there - when we got to my MIL's and went groecry shopping we saw the reason for his odd looks  - the stuff was readily available on every supermarkert shelf - you can't get it here for love nor money

Time for me to head home and check on some TV recording I did for a friend.  Hope it all recorded properly.  If not...oh, well. ::)

Until later!

DR Elmore, Loyce says HI!

It was nice she showed up tonight! I think John played for "Jacques Brel."

I enjoyed TOP CHEF, although I get a little tired pf the  constant push of Padma and her narcissism as sexy; she's too "I am all I need" for me. I think the right one went home.  I love TOP CHEF MASTERS; these three chefs are such wonderful men.

I've been trying to remember which shows he played, but haven't had time to find the programs to verify.
