Keith was watching a show while on the cross trainer today, and they had a long haired Akita on.  He said it was the most beautiful dog he had ever seen.  I don't know what that dog looked like, this one I found online sure is a beauty:

Beautiful indeed, DR Jane!     :D

Is it an Akita named Evita?  [a Rent reference]

Then just DO IT, DAMN IT.

Hutton is brilliant, but unfortunately her personal problems (depresion/alcoholism/sleeping pills) took their toll.

Should you go a-cemetarying:

As I entered my hiking trail today there was a sign warning of a bear sighting in the vicinity, and not to make eye contact or run if you see it.  What the sign didn't say was what to do if I spotted it.

From talking to other people it was likely spotted in the early morning or early evening & was down to enjoy the pear & fruit trees at the nearby houses & the water in the creek.  Odds are very good I would not see it.

Sure is fun watching the PGA Golf tour on HDTV.

The event is being played at the new Liberty National course in Jersey City - with great views of NYC.

Now just line up your shot with the Crysler building....

There are a few performers who seem to divide people.....you either HATE or LOVE them.  How do you stand on these people:

Barbra Streisand

Betty Hutton

Michael Jackson

Josh Groban

Well, I wouldn't go out of my way to see most of them, and in a couple of cases would likely avoid them

Streisand - I love the pre-70s Streisand the most. From the succeeding decades, I have to pick and choose.

Betty Hutton - wears out her welcome fast, but in small doses, very entertaining, and sometimes in something like DREAM GIRL, I like her all the way through.

Michael Jackson - never appealed to me in anything that he did, but I recognize that he did have talent.

Josh Groban - no opinion pro or con.

Surprise! I DID go to lunch today with best friend John. Lunch plans fell through, and as usual, I was available. Nice to get out of the house even though I've had more pain today than any other day this week.

When I got in I finished the three CRIMINAL MINDS episodes I had left. My goodness, they certainly put Thomas Gibson through the ringer. At the end of season three, he is inches away from his car when it explodes. At the end of this season, an escaped serial killer has him at gunpoint when it fades to black (but we do hear a gunshot).

Got all the bonus features watched, too. A behind-the-scenes featurette, 7 brief profiles of the seven major stars of the series, and a gag reel.

I'm a big Betty Hutton & Barbra Streisand fan.  Michael just became too painful to look at.  I think I like Josh Groban, I need to be more familiar with him.

So that leaves tonight free. I know I have LEVERAGE to watch and today's soaps. I might try to watch the next Les Barker/Tarzan movie. We'll see.

Striesand -- Like DR Matt, I love her early work and bits and pieces of what she's done since the 70's.

Betty Hutton -- I've liked her in what I've seen of her movies, but then I haven't seen them all.

Michael Jackson -- Liked him and his work when he was younger, but nothing about the man or his music from the BAD album on.

Josh Groban -- not my cup of tea but I wont say that I hate his work.

And since we dragged Jane Fonda into this, I enjoy the lady and her work.

That's a pretty sedate stone for Betty!

I liked the story she always told - her mother had run a speakeasy in Battle Creek Michigan until they left town after dark.....when they came back for a big Betty Hutton movie premiere and there was a parade in Betty's honor - she and her mother were riding in a limousine in front of the mayor on her way to airport to go back to Hollywood.

Betty:  Wow, Mom, just like old times....

Betty's Mom:  Yes - only this time the police are in front of us.

Pardon me if this has been posted here before...

But HERE is a cute gender-reversed clip from Chicago, featuring our very own Jason Graae.

I guess I need to hop off-line now and finish up my review of CRIMINAL MINDS. Then, it'll be downstairs for a leisurely evening of fun viewing.

The world is so lucky I believe in gun control because i want to walk into the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel and blow away the reservations dept. The Library of Congress spoke to a Kyle about my reservation and I need to talk to him. When I call the reservation number, I get whoever picks up and ask for Kyle, who;s always on another damned line. Then I tell the authoritative reservations clerk that I must speak to him since he and the LoC discussed my reservation and I need to deal with it. Aty this point I'm told once again that he's on ANOTHER CALL but they can help me. Is there a reservation under my name? No. Do you know the particulars I need to help with this matter? No. Can I speak to Kyle? He's on ANOTHER CALL! I want them all dead.
