DR Elmore - this story reminded me of Miss Brown missing her entrance at the end Act I, Scene 1 of Look Homeward, Angel. Ailing Ben is asleep in his bed, Helen's sitting at his bedside dozing and Eugene is waiting to be vamped by Miss Brown's "Pony Boy" song.

DR JRand - did your director come backstage at intermission demanding to know "What the h*** happened out there?" And did you and the cast give the performance of your lives for the rest of the show to earn his gratitude?

I have one of these, too. I played the Grand Inquisitor in The Lark, by Jean Anouilh (sp?). As you may know, the GI sits there for the entire play, and then delivers a gigantic (like, 10-15 minute) monologue at the end of the play, after which the henchman comes in and leads Joan of Arc to her fate. Well, I sat there and then delivered my monologue and then of course no henchman. Gave my cue again. No henchman. Made a quick decision and ad libbed something to one of the "church officials" and told them to take Joan off to her little roasting party. After the show went back and discovered (are you ready?), the henchman had missed his cue because, as he appeared on stage shirtless, he had been drawing chest hair on his chest with an eyebrow pencil.

He must have thought that DR MBarnum was in the house.

I was doing theatre in the round - I was playing a nurse and I was wearing my nurses' uniform in the second act but in Act three I had moved to the main character's home and was now dresed in a red dress

We were performing for a group of senior citizens - one hard of hearing man shouted to his wife "Who is that one in the red dress? "

"it's the nurse from the last act"

"Can't be - the nurse didn't have such a big ass"

Then there was teh murder mystery dinner we did when the detective - also teh author of the show decided to rewrite the sdhow - duringthe performance -

suddenly we were all in chairs facing the audience and the identity of the murderer was changed - to me!

that was fun too

I would like to see it off you tube. What it is sad is that people agreed with the comment and other posters were oblivious to it. (I know others will say that he has the right to say what he wants to say, but I also have the right to see it removed)

It is so sad that people still make jokes about AIDS. I would never wish it on everyone. I have known several people who died from complications due to AIDS. I still remember them.

Well, I need to leave. I have to take a shower, get dressed, call the work number of the phone that I found (I'm surprised that the owner hasn't call his/her own phone!) and work concessions for Wrinkles of Washington - Mystery at Hornsby Manor. After that, I'm going to my sister's to visit with the family and the cousins who came up from Oregon. They're leaving tomorrow morning, so this'll be the last chance to visit with them. They only arrived yesterday, so they aren't here for very long, anyway.

Years ago Keith & I went to the Norman Rockwell museum and discovered the beauty in the original paintings.

Good Afternoon!

I started at 10:00am. 50 or so auditions later, I was done - and a bunch of them were "actors only", so I had a couple of "breaks" throughout the morning. All in all, a good day with the usual episodes of cluelessness and frustration.
