I am so sorry for missing DAW's birthday.  Hope it was a great one, and I'll find out when I catch up little by little.

One of my favorite posters.

I remember waiting in line outside the Carelton Cinema in Toronto and was fascinated by the art work. I thought it was a recreation of a scene from the film. Of course it wasn't

Finished season one of Mad Men.  The penultimate episode was the best so far, and the final episode had very good things in it.  SPOILER AHEAD:

But the Peggy "surprise"???  How could she go eight months without realizing she was not fat but pregnant - makes no sense on any level, at least for me.

The VERY thing I objected to. And if she didn't suspect through innocence or naivte (which I don't buy for a minute), those nosy, pushy secretaries around her certainly would have known the score. Being pregnant is VERY different from being fat through gaining weight.

A little girl at our church was born just hours after her mother discovered she was pregnant. It does happen.

I liked "I Love You, Man" - Mr Paul Rudd and Ms Rashida Jones and Mr Jason Segel were all very funny.

I also liked "Leatherheads" - but Renee Zellwegger has a funny way of holding her mouth that is very unattractive on TV....so I can imagine what it must look like on the BIG screen.

I only hope Renee's mouth and Adrian Brody's nose never make a movie together.

In some things I think Renee Zellweger is wonderful (JERRY MAGUIRE, CHICAGO, BRIDGET JONES), but I thought she was simply terrible, miscast, and had no chemistry at all with George Clooney and John Krasinski in LEATHERHEADS. She was this vacuum in the middle of the movie.

Maybe so, but with this tiny girl who grew into this balloon in an office LOADED with nosy, sarcastic women, I find it HIGHLY unlikely. Sorry, no argument will convince me.

I finished the last two MY NAME IS EARL episodes, the last one of which guest starred Burt Reynolds. And how ironic that it ended with a "To Be Continued" cliffhanger title card when NBC inevitably canceled the show.

There was a 33-minute Q&A session with cast and crew, and it was obvious that when it was filmed, no one had a clue the show was going to be ending. Several of the writers and the show's creator mentioned things they wanted to explore in upcoming seasons! Oops!

Then, I watched my CASTLE episode of the day, the one with the woman's body drowned in a bathtub of motor oil.

Can't wait to see some new episodes of the show. I'd love to see this series run for years.

I watched today's ONE LIFE TO LIVE with Fish coming face-to-face with his parents on the verge of revealing his sexual orientation to them. Staging was very awkward and a bit unrealistic, I thought, but I'm enjoying the performances.

Nice to welcome BONES back to a new season, and I enjoyed the new show very much, even with the wishy-washy "coma Booth" who's going to take some time to get back to normal.

And SUPERNATURAL had a wonderful episode tonight too with the first of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse arriving for Armageddon. Some good action and thrills.

Ah, well, Matt H., this mother wasn't tiny. So I guess in Peggy's case, it is not the same.

Listening to music - was trying to watch a Warner Archive "comedy" called Get To Know Your Rabbit - truly awful, unless it gets better at some point.  Totally unfunny and charmless and rather ineptly directed by Brian De Palma - this film was shelved, tinkered with, and released to lousy reviews and no business.  And, of course, there are people who LOVE it on the imdb.

Good evening - almost midnight.

Just home from seeing The Royal Family - at MTC's Biltmore Samuel J Friedman Theatre.  A marvelous cast --  Rosemary Harris, John Glover, Jan Maxwell, Reg Rogers, Ana Gasteyer, Larry Pine, Tony Roberts, and David Greenspan, among others.  Quite funny, and I liked the way it builds through the three (!) acts.  What a treat to see Rosemary Harris in such fine form.  She was wonderful.

I love the old three-act structure - wish it would come back.
