Handy Man is here and working and I'm about to go jog.  I had more packages to pack than I thought, but they're all done now.

And the word of the day is: OGIVE!

OGIVE me a home
Where the buffalo roam
Where the deer and the antelope play.

Where seldom is heard
A discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day.

I have a version of this somewhere that is very much like Jonathan and Darlene's style. DR Kerry has heard it.

I was just hearing that very version in my mind.   May God help us all!

LOL! It's great.... in a Wing or Florence Foster Jenkins kind of way.

Where the deeeeeerr and the anteeeeylope plaayyyyyy.......

I totally forgot about today's McGlinnventory and I am running late, speaking of too many balls in the air. I had thought last night, in my foggy state, that I was spending the morning on FINIAN'S RAINBOW and I was wrong. Damn! Off to the East Side.

DR elmore - I hope that school kids let you have a seat on the bus and/or subway.  *If I were you, I'd just ask to have a seat. You might be surprised.  -

I would have asked, preferably near one of the chaperon's.  I would have been sure to give a brief explanation as to why I was asking.

DR Jane - There are no chaperones unless it's a field trip.

I thought it was a field trip.  I still think the odds are that one of the young people would have given up their seat.

Nope. The city busses and subways act as the "school bus" for many of the school children in NYC, so it's kind of a daily occurence - well, whenever DR elmore happens to take the bus during pre- and post- school hours.  However, as we both agree, it never hurts to ask. ;)

MBarnum were any of your family near the East Medford fire?

The speed at which these fires were under control is truly impressive.  We have barely had any rain this summer, combined with the high temps and high winds the Ashland fire spread with incredible speed.  So far it is holding at 153 acres and the Medford fire at 600 acres.

DR Cillaliz i'm curious what you thought of the premiere of DWTS....

I thought donny osmond was amazing, although did not vote for him. He is for sure gonna be top 4. But i was surprised how much i liked him.

Donny Osmond? You must vote for Donny Osmond. Do it for me. Please.

Well you can only vote during the show and 30 minutes afterwards (which was yesterday).

Although i'm pretty sure he won't need my votes.

They limit your votes though. Although donny will have the same number every week (so you could vote yourself). Or you can vote online.

Here's your library tip for the day:

Based on the Book

Probably not exhaustive, but a good start.

There is also a 2 hour HELL's KITCHEN on fox tonight.

And because Thursday has a 2 hour GREY's ANATOMY, the canadian station CTV is showing the season premiere of THE MENTALIST tonight!

I am very jealous. I can't wait to see some new episodes of one of my favorite shows.

R.I.P John Hart

Wasnt he the actor who played the Lone Ranger for one season between Clayton Moore's long tenure in the part?

Here's some awful news (kind of). I did get a new review DVD set in the mail today (very late 3:30, so I didn't even attempt to start on it). It's Criterion's next Eclipse box set: Dusan Makavejev Free Radical.

Now, here's what's awful. This is the same director that helmed that most disgusting, repugnant movie I've ever watched: SWEET MOVIE. True, these movies were made before he threw everything into his movies but the kitchen sink, but I'm still wary about what weird stuff he decides to focus on in these three films. At least being Eclipse releases, there won't be any bonus features. It'll be the three movies and that's all.

I'll start on them tomorrow.

I watched another HOLMES program this morning: THE PROBLEM AT THOR BRIDGE. Interesting mystery. Another good transfer.

While I ate lunch, I watched last night's season premiere of CASTLE. Such a fun outing without it being a great mystery, but loved seeing Robert Gant in a guest role even if it was only one scene. A great way to get the season off to a rousing start.
