My windows are still open. Quite a change from Monday, when it was 104.

Ours are still closed, because the humidity is about 104%

Mr. Handy Man was here and doing the last of the shade job.  Then he tried to help my car, but there is no helping the problem, I guess.  Some of the paint on the roof has, what he says, oxidized, just in two spots but it looks like sandpaper and not very attractive.  Why it only happened in those two spots is anyone's guess - there are no other problems on the entire car.  He used something called a clay bar, which usually works, but didn't because apparently the paint they used has clear coat or something.  If anyone has any clew how to deal with this problem, please let me know.

DR DERBRUCER - I looked for "the forgotton" on my TV schedule, but could only find "The Forgotten".  I'm guessing that's the same thing. ;)

Sorry, DAW stole my "e".

My windows are open. First time in many months.

And I've had to close mine for the next two days, but then it looks like we'll be having some real early fall weather.

Is this YOU DR ELMORE?

Yes, DR JRand59, it is. I agree with you about the glorious score, but unlike you, I find the story a wonderful mix of whimsy, blarney, politics, and social criticism. I appreciate your wish for my Tony nomination, but I've only scored about 70 bars of music and the rest of the orchestrations are by two men I feel quite inferior to, Russell Bennett and Don Walker.

I see my favorite recording of the show is now out of print, but the Amazon Marketplace has several copies "used-like new" for a good price. I'm hoping we get a recording.

I certainly prefer that version to the original Broadway cast recording, but I really love the soundtrack of the movie. A new recording would be most welcome.

I am torn between GLEE and the CBS comedies.  I really like GARY UNMARRIED.

I am thinking I will go with GLEE and catch GARY in reruns in October.

No need to be torn; they don't run in competition with each other. The CBS comedies are 8-9. GLEE runs from 9-10. It's ABC that has 9-10 comedies.

I guess I should go do some errands and whatnot and then get ready for the meeting and then our reading.  I'm quite hungry but will try to hold off until pizza time at six.

I watched another Brett/Holmes program - SHOSCOMBE OLD PLACE. This has to be the easiest to figure out Sherlock Holmes story of all time. I had never read the story; THE CASE BOOK is the one Holmes volume I've never read, but at least in the filmed version, the mystery's solution was very obvious.

While I ate lunch, I watched COMMUNITY, but I likely won't stay with it. It was OK, but none of the characters engaged me much, so that's 30 minutes I can save myself each week.

Then I did my work project for this afternoon - Dusan Makavejev's MAN IS NOT A BIRD. Typical mix of drama, comedy, and socialism uneasily combined into a stew of ideas, images, and politics. Certainly not as objectionable as those two 70s movies I had seen earlier, but nothing all that gripping either. For me, this was not the revelation of something like THE 400 BLOWS or KNIFE IN THE WATER were for their directors.

Since the film was only 78 minutes, I had time to watch the second part of ELIZABETH I. I watched about 70 minutes of it, to the point where Elizabeth sends Essex to fight the Battle of Cadiz.

I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. It continues with the kidnapping/ransom story, and it was just as ridiculous today as yesterday. The shooting of Damien was badly staged, and all the skulking around about writing samples and reports is SO tedious.

DR Jose, Ioana (ee-wa-na) is the best I can do.  As awkward as it is here, it is a rather common name in Romania.

What?  However...  I actually know two Ioana's here in NYC.

I'm sorry, that should have been DR JMK.  I was thinking you know how to pronounce the name, which must be why I typed Jose instead of JMK.

Are the two Ioana's you know from NYC or another country?

At 9pm I will record GLEE.

But on the CW there is a new show called THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE, about the rfashion industry. I watched it online and actually really liked it!

I thought we just might like it & recorded the show.  Keith & I never made it past the runway ;D

The ratings for THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE have been horrendous. I'm not sure how long they'll let it run unless things pick up a bit.

On the other hand, NCIS scored the highest ratings in its seven year history last night. It is VERY unusual for a show to be building on its ratings during its seventh year on the air, but NCIS seems to be doing that.

NCIS: LA benefitted from that huge lead-in audience and delivered more than 90% of its lead-in audience, the best debut so far this (young) season.

Now, I guess I'll hop off-line and do some writing before heading back down for the next film in my work project box set. The one tonight is called LOVE AFFAIR OR THE CASE OF THE MISSING SWITCHBOARD OPERATOR. It's only 69 minutes long, so I should have no trouble getting it watched before I join GLEE (at about 9:15 and via the DVR will catch up to it before it goes off in real time.)
