Catching up from the last few days #2

Michael Barnum posted a poster of SPLIT SECOND. It looks interesting. Is it out on home video?

Ron Pulliam ask what Ish Kabibble was.

It is more of a who not a what.

Ish Kabibble was the stage name of an actor.  Who I am not sure of

Did he really not know who it was, or was he just pulling your leg? He was a part of one of the all-time great dance bands.

I began my evening watching today's ONE LIFE TO LIVE. Really interest gay storylines going on there, and I am loving every day that one or more of them are on.

Then I watched tonight's work prokect, the next of those Makavejev films: LOVE AFFAIRS OR THE CASE OF THE MISSING SWITCHBOARD OEPRATOR.

Typical Makavejev nonsense: take a sweet, interesting love story and drop into it a series of off the wall film snippets. Everything from dissecting a human brain to a lecture on rat infestation of Asia and Europe to an ancient silent movie of a bodybuilder and a nude woman posing as Adam and Eve in suggestive sex positions.

After I finished that, I watched the "making of" documentary for THE PIRATE. Then I listened to some of the bonus audio tracks on the disc: Roger Edens singing several of the songs and also Judy's alternate version of "Love of My Life" which makes it a more attractive (if less vocally complex) melody than the version used in the film.

DR Michael S - Yep, I believe that post was basically a one-off from DR Ron Pulliam. In the spirit of "What is it, fish?"  -But I guess the bold and large font worked. ;)

Then I watched tonight's version of GLEE. I really enjoyed the singing and performing. The baby scenario is just WRONG all the way around, but Kurt's scenes with his father were sweet (played by Mike O'Malley who played gay himself for several years on MY NAME IS EARL). And Jane Lynch's TV editorials were hilarious.

Yep, wildly over the top and appears to be the way the show is going to go, but once I've adjusted to that, it's so blame entertaining.

But if you don't vote for him because you think he won't need your vote, then someone else will have more votes and will win.

We elected a rotten governor that way.

It's the Arizona way :)  I was there when that happened once

RE: Recording Finnian's Rainbow

I think you have an excellent track record from Bay Cities, Varese and the other label. I would think that could be put into consideration. Besides Larry you have worked with the creme de la creme of the musical and cabaret world. I'm that should count for something.

It's already down to 58 degrees here.  It's been in the 40s for the past three nights. I finally gave in and put the comforter on the bed and turned on the furnace

If Encores! remains true to form, the cast recording would be released by DRG. Or Ghostlight.
