Yes, Cry For Us All had a very brief page and a half in Not Since Carrie. I can't finish the packaging until Saturday because I managed to score an out of town playbill for the show and we're going to put the title page in the booklet - from when the show briefly had a title change to Who To Love and before Margot Moser's role got totally eliminated. Too much fun to leave out. We've got the place for it in the booklet and the Playbill should be here by noon tomorrow.

The oafs are back this morning - I would have slept longer had they not been yakking. I think they're attending to the driveway today (all that's left, unless they're going to put water in the pool, which they should).

Part of today will be spent in typing up my notes from last night's reading and putting down my general thoughts about why some things are stubbornly refusing to work, some things that need to be removed in total, and what needs to be added.

I really loved "Cougar Town" and "Eastwick" last night.

Both worked very well for me and my sensibilities. Paul Gross is a wonderful Darryl Van Horne! And how fun for Veronica Cartwright to "return" as Eastwick's favorite harbinger of doom.

Courtney Cox has another winner, I hope, with her role as a recently divorced mom determined to open her mind and date younger men. Her son is way cool beyond his years and her ex is wonderfully funny as a ne'er-do-well to whom she pays alimony and who takes a job cutting grass at his son's school. The kid is going to need therapy before he enters college, I'm sure.

Yesterday I went to see A Steady Rain, one of the new Broadway shows with Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig. I was joking with people beforehand that I didn't know whether I'd be seeing Daniel Craig in the show, because I was pretty sure my eyes wouldn't leave Hugh Jackman.

The show was wonderful. I truly loved it. Both actors - yes -- I did watch both of them! were riveting. Completely in character, they quickly made me forget I was watching Hugh and Daniel, and I instead quickly became engrossed in the stories they were relating. Very intense. We sat in our seats for a couple minutes after it was over, until we felt ready to move. (Well - re-sat in our seats -- there was, of course, the very well deserved standing O).

Very packed house. Every seat was taken. And it was one of those rare shows where there is electricity in the air before it starts, while everyone is anticipating the start of the performance.

Like the idea of the new release. It will be nice to hear another Mitch Leigh score. I wonder if it will have guitars.... hmmm....

TOD - anything the DP can create. After living with a pastry chef, anything else (except for something high end) seems pointless.

Julie, did you notice if there was standing room? If so, did the standers look like adults, not students? I'm having trouble finding out if there is indeed Standing Room for Steady Rain or just Student Rush. The Ticketmaster (or whichever) site only mentions student rush but I've heard there is standing room. I think if I see it that will be the only way for me to do it.

Ben - I did not see people standing in the back last night, although I was not specifically looking for it. According to a post on another board, standing room is not available for preview performances, but they do expect to have it after opening night.

While I wish Hugh Jackman all the luck in the world in this role, I would have loved to have seen him do BYE BYE BIRDIE instead.

DR Jose in answer to your question regarding the last phrase on the yiddish site....

in her words:

"My hovercraft is full of eels..." comes from a Monty Python sketch - English for Forgeigners... and of course, in any language, that phrase is quite useful...

Have a good one, all DR's.. I'm about to hop into the ol' Honda and head down to Santa CRuz, to visit with my brother's oldest boy - after a lovely visit with my ol' pals and their exemplary pupster!! Oh, what fun was had by all!!
