I LOVED the Kristina concert last night!!  It will probably go down as one of my favorite things of the year.  The music is so stunningly beautiful.  It was the first time I ever heard it.  I don't have any of the recordings.  And yet, I immediately felt washed in the beauty of it.  OK -- that's really geeky.  But it's true.  Also, the voices of the singers were fabulous.  I can't imagine it being sung any better.  And with the 50 piece orchestra, I can't imagine it ever sounding better.  As a piece, it is almost operatic, but still has a contemporary feel - in a way reminiscent to me at times to the score of Chess.

I know some people were reporting sound problems the first night, but they must have worked it out becuase I had no such problems last night.  I really hope this is only the beginning of it's life in America.  But in the meantime, I definitely need to acquire the recording.

The smoke continues.  Southern Oregon could really use some rain.  At least our 2 local fires have been contained.  Amazing is with a total of close to 800 acres burned, only one house was lost to the fires.  The said house was empty and up for rent.

I agree with DR RJP, it's ugly here in the bay area today.  Now if it could just stay this way and not soar into the 90's this afternoon for 3 hours before cooling down again, that would be loverly.

TOD - really, nothing of interest

I think I'm coming down with a cold, but I'm hoping it's just allergies.

DR Matt H, a big thank you for the MEDIUM update.  With the change our DVR had to be re-programed to record the series.  We would have missed it tonight had you not mentioned it.

I bet Northern California could use them too.  After all, we are just over the California border.

One of the musical directors for the Mamma Mia! tour helmed the early workshops of Kristina, and had some of "Benny and Bjorn's" actual demos.  Good listening.

Thanks, DR Jane, I think I'll go find some Advil Cold and Sinus, that should help, just wasn't prepared for it!  Sudden change of weather might be an issue.

If they asked me, I could write a book.

But, of course, no one ever does...

There are way too many shows on our DVR waiting to be watched.  I found I had recorded FAST FORWARD in the guest room.  CASTLE is also in there to be watched.

The water in the creek where I normally walk is so low & yucking I think it is making Sherlock sick.  He doesn't listen when I tell him to get out of it so today I will have to walk him elsewhere.  That means I'll have to keep him on a leash the entire time, not fun for either of us.  He is good on the leash where we normally walk, new places he gets excited & walks over to check all the new scents along the way.  Sherlock walking fast towards a bush, for me is comparable to a small dog pulling hard.  If I'm not diligent I just sort of get dragged along.

I found I was disappointed a bit in last night's "Mentalist."

I thought Patrick Jane acted a bit too petulant.  I also don't like his new hair style.

And in honor of Barbra's new album, perhaps also a WA-WA mute!!!    :D

A list of household foods & items dangerous to pets.  A few of these I was not aware of, or have forgotten, others are downright stupid yet I've read people have done them:
