It could have been Brian Boitano calling DR Elmore.

It could have been Brian Boitano calling DR Elmore.

Did he tell Elmore what he would be cooking?

We have good news and bad news about our NYC apartment situation.  The good news is that we received the key in the mail today.  The bad news is that I also received an email from the landlady apologizing for the fact that the elevator, which has been undergoing renovations, did not pass inspection and will likely not be operational for some or all of our stay.  She IS offering to discount our rent for the days that it's out, but here's what I said in my email back to her:

"As an out-of-shape baby boomer who just watched the Mad Men episode in which Don and his boss had to walk up 23 flights, I'm not thrilled about the elevator news.  We'll get back to you."

As Richard points out, 5 flights isn't nearly as bad as 23.  And there don't seem to be a lot of alternatives at this point.

I was thinking Barry Bostwick.

Well:  Benjamin Britten is dead.

But Benjamin Bratt is not!

Just pretend you're rehearsing for "Barefoot In the Park".

And be sure you have everything when you leave the apartment.  Running back for a forgotten item will be a real pain!

DR Ginny - Well... At least you won't have to be moving and carrying any furniture up those five flights of stairs. :-\

As for a discount, she should just give you one night free... And a stack of one-dollar bills for you to tip any Good Samaritans.

Speaking of favorite sites -

I missed Michael Musto's blog last Friday and it turned out I was mentioned, or at least he mentioned & linked the I'M STILL QUEER video from a few months back.  That was fun!

George, I am so sorry about your missing recordings.

And I have an alibi for eveyday that it could have happened!

Thanks Tom...and I have no doubt that you can account for your whereabouts. ;)

Thanks for the input, DRs der Brucer, Cillaliz, and Jose.  The discount she's offering is, in effect, one night free (assuming the elevator is out all five nights we're there).

OK, CNN has an article that says "Balloon family feels under seige"  Well duh, you do some big hoax to get attention and you'll get attention.  Maybe not the attention you were seeking, but attention nonetheless.
