DR Jrand, I hope that you will continue to post about your favorite tv shows. I enjoy reading your thoughts.

I also hope you didn't think i was berating you.  I just noticed that you had mentioned who got eliminated on last night's TAR while the show was still on. And since you hadn't mentioned the title of the show (just the names) in your post i just thought you might want to fix your post.

re: the 24 hour thing BK and DR RonP proposed.

I think there is a difference between posting a surprise ending/elimination. Vs just talking about a show.

If you're talking about a show i think it's fine to just name the show before you start talking about it. That way if someone hasn't watched yet that week they can avoid it.

I know i don't always watch shows 24 hours after they are on, so that doesn't really do anything for me.

I think that we should just do what we've been doing.  Putting the title of the show in the post. And trying to be considerate.

Lovely photo DR DAW.

DR Ginny, I guess I read the number of times you have to walk the stairs incorrectly.  I'm glad you have more time to enjoy NY.

It's been too rainy to get really good colors in the trees in my neighborhood, but maybe later in the week - it will be good for a photo.

DR DAW that is a lovely palette.

HawHaw Haw!  That is so PITHY, DAW!  :)

Speaking of colors:

My mom went to Asheville NC for a couple of days last year.  The weather, she said, was beautiful but she was a little disappointed that except for leaves that had turned red, there was very little orange and yellow to give that wonderful autumnal glow to the landscapes.

My boss returned this morning from New Hampshire and reported that there were no reds, but there were plenty of orange leaves and yellow leaves.

Sigh.

Here...we have green....and bare....trees lose their leaves all-too-often before they can actually turn colors and amaze us.

DR DAW that is a lovely palette.

"Palette"!  That's the word I couldn't remember when I was dealing with the TOD.

Another treasure is a palette used during a performance of Baz Luhrmann's "La Bohme" on Broadway...and autographed by all the stars (save one) and by Luhrmann and the music director.  It's quite an objet that I have not found a proper way to display (it requires a lucite box, I think.

DR DtM - Mr Sondheim answered a question via mail for me.  I think if you write, you will probably receive an answer in return.

I shall give it a try.  What can it hurt (except for another restraining order?)

STRANGE THING DEPARTMENT:

I awoke Saturday morning with the mission of watching shows I'd missed that were in my DVR cache.

First thing I noted was that Friday's "Dollhouse" did not record despite having been scheduled to record.   DRAT.

Then I noticed something VERY ODD.  My cache was 92% full.

HUH?  How could that be.  I counted the shows I had recorded.  Each was an hour-long show (save one) and each should have taken up 5% of my cache.  I have movies saved that take up 23%, so I figured the six shows saved should have taken up another 30%....or, 53%.   However, I recorded that LA Philharmonic concert on PBS last Thursday evening.  It was, IIRC, two hours...possibly three.  But at most, that should have been 15% of my DVR cache memory.

At a loss as to what had happened -- and facing the fact that I would not be watching the concert any time soon -- I deleted it.

And what do you think?

It was 50% of my cache!!!!!!  The recorded programs went from 92% to 42%.   ACK!

What the heck kind of signal were they transmitting do you suppose?

Oh, and I'm up, have answered a lot of e-mails, printed out a few orders (Cry For Us All was just reviewed favorably on Playbill, and whenever that happens there's suddenly some orders).

And HERE is a direct link to the review. :)
