Did you put holds on any of the excursions?

Yes, for three of them

A half day Pompeii tour
An all-day tour of Florence
A full day in Pisa

I still may book the Monte Carlo tour.

In Florence we had the best Ribollita (tuscan bean) soup.  If you can be sure to try this.  It takes several days to make.

In Pisa we had the best 4 pizza ever, a 4 cheese pizza.  I also had an incredible caramel, or caramel swirl, gelato.  It was exceptional gelato even by Italian standards.   Overall my favorite flavor was stracciatella.  Except for the 2 days I was sick I had at least one cone a day.    Near the end of the trip when I knew I might never have anything as good again, and I haven't, I had 2 cones a day.

Today is would have been a very dreary day had the hiking trails not been aglow with yellow maple leaves and autumn colors.  Had I known the path would look like the yellow brick road I would have taken my camera with me.  On second thought, maybe it is best I didn't as I'm about to inundate you with photos from Sherlock & my almost daily walk.  I will attempt to spread the photos out over a number of days.

No, I am only cross-trained as a cashier and a barristo.  Now I will be on the sales floor proper, guiding customers and recommending books.

DR Jane - Well... The next time you're in Philadelphia, be sure to check out Capogiro Gelato, and/or the next time you're in NYC, I'll take you to GROM.

-Just for comparison's sake. ;)

This reminds me of my husband. We were in New Mexico, and he had us driving all over looking for Chinese food. Chinese! In Albuquerque.
