Quote from: TCB on November 07, 2009, 04:19:18 PMI could kick myself that I didn't decide to go to Rome one day earlier. I could have easily left on Wednesday instead of Thursday, since Wednesday is a holiday. It never occured to me that the Vatican would be closed all day on Sunday (It is a church!), and that they would be closed a half day on Saturday. So, I have now purchased a 10:30 a.m. Saturday ticket for a two hour Vatican / Sistine Chapel tour.Anything else I get to see will be gravy, I guess. If you are a "registered" Catholic and contact your diocesan office, they can sometimes arrange special tours for you.

Good morning, all! I'm checking in to let you know I am not dead and to disappoint my critics. I do not feel terrible, but my head is clogged up, and I am so hoarse I cannot speak a sentence. I think my favorite Johnny Mercer lyrci may be "My Shining Hour."
Pot...this is kettle...

Not a great film by any measure, but good performances and one which didn't answer the ultimate question at the end, which I really liked. this one I've got to ageee with him.James?

I think my favorite Johnny Mercer lyrci may be "My Shining Hour."Margaret Whiting has a very poignant story about singing this to the soldiers before they went off to war. But alas, she is old and some people are of the opinion that viewers don't like to look at old people. Pot...this is kettle...
Incidentally, MOSTLY MERCER is where I heard Nancy LaMott for the first time.
I've been listening to the soundtrack to Midnight in ghe Garden of Good and Evil, all Johnny Mercer songs. I love Skylark and Autumn Leaves

I will say that Margaret Whiting looked and sounded better in the Mercer documentary than she did in the Jack Wrangler documentary.
You mean to say that Jack Wrangler has been documented?

The singer on the soundtrack ruins it for me...runs in the family, I guess. J.M is the definitive version.
