Cruises, I am told, are much more relaxed these days and often do not require the more formal attire. Is that the case for your cruise, TCB?

Actually it is Jeanne. The dress code for meals onboard the Insignia is resort casual. No tuxedos, no ties, and, sorry Rickshaw, no formal gowns.

Two flights. Seattle to London; then London to Rome. We sail from just outside of Rome.

I make egg salad with a little onion and sliced or chopped olives and take to work to snack on with crackers.

When I went back down, I picked TWISTER on Blu-ray off the to-watch shelf. Oh, my, the Dolby TrueHD sound just about lifted the roof off my house. Incredible, powerful sound and VERY spacious. Reference quality for sure.

The improved clarity of the visuals makes some of the tornados look very fake. (Some of the effects are still very impressive.)

It's a fun popcorn movie with some wonderful folks in small roles like Jeremy Davies and Philip Seymour Hoffman and Lois Smith and Cary Elwes. Nice to see it again.

Then, I plucked DIAL 'M' FOR MURDER off the Hitchcock shelf and began rewatching it. It looks much better than the clips on one of those Hitchcock documentaries I watched last week made it appear. I only got a little more than halfway through so I'll conclude with it tomorrow morning.

Then I watched tonight's GLEE. One of the strongest episodes of the season with terrific numbers and several very moving and eye-opening stories. Loved it.

When I went to Las Vegas, I had the best luck with the nickel slots. I always came out ahead with those. I understand many casinos have weeded them out now. (I haven't been to Vegas in over a decade.)
