OK, I don't think my political preferences are especially secret, but even I am rolling my eyes over new MSNBC commentator Elliot Spitzer, especially when he is repeatedly labelled "Former Attorney General." Do they think we have no memory?

I've been looking for it, but can't seem to find it. However, I believe it was either from "The Joy of Cooking" or an issue of "Better Homes & Gardens". However...

I have made it before, it really is just oranges - including a generous amount of the zest - and fresh cranberries chopped and chopped and chopped - or just whirred together in a food processor for a bit. Mint is optional.

Alas, after the email I received earlier today, I'm not sure now would be a good time to call my mother... $:-\$

In the meantime, here's a basic version courtesy of the New York Times:

Quote

1 bag fresh cranberries

1 whole navel orange, preferably organic, skin included, washed and cut into chunks

1/2 cup shelled pecans

1/3 cup mild honey, such as clover

Place all the ingredients in a food processor and pulse, then blend until you have a uniform, very finely chopped mixture with a crunchy texture. Chill until ready to serve.

Yield: Serves eight.

Advance preparation: This is best made on Thanksgiving Day, but if really pressed for time, you could make it a day ahead.

And, yes, you do process the WHOLE orange. The bitterness of the rind is balanced out with the tartness of the cranberries and the sweetness of the orange flesh and juice (and honey or sugar).

Had a lovelier than lovely lunch with Beth Malone. Came back to yet one more e-mail requesting two minor changes for track titles - I ended up talking to the woman who is doing all this stuff, and I made the changes for her, even though I really didn't have to (the head of all this and I had agreed on everything this morning) - it seemed to make her happy, and I just asked that we now move forward swiftly to the only word I wish to hear: Approved. I sent them the once-again revised inlay card, and asked them to approve as quickly as possible. We'll see what happens, but I'm really hopeful it will be tomorrow.

THE CLOSER is showing that two-part Christmas special. It's wonderful but the outcome is really heartbreaking.

I watched two episodes of SUPERNATURAL on Blu-ray. One involved monsters who weren't supernatural at all. They were children of incest who had been surviving in the walls and basement of an old house. In some ways, it was scarier and creepier than the usual demons, witches, and ghosts that are a part of the series.

The next episode featured old magicians trying to make it in a world than was more about flash and big effects than the kind of magic they were used to performing. Barry Bostwick and John Ruberstein were the guest stars. (I believe John's son was also a guest star playing his dad transformed into a younger man.)

I'm exhausted. Watching a really weird motion picture on Blu and Ray. I began by watching the Blu and Ray of Pierre le Fout, but I realized I must have had and watched the Criterion DVD of this recently - the Blu looks much better.
