The drive up from Richmond which, under normal circumstances, should take about six hours, ended up taking about nine. However, since the holiday traffic was not unexpected, it was a relatively relaxed and stress-free drive back up to New York City.  -My 80Gig iPod also helped a lot too. ;)  *Many Thanks to my friend, Bradley, for being my chauffeur and driver.

And even if the trip back up to New York City had ended up taking 12 hours, I still wouldn't have minded, because...

Drop the damned shoe!

Consider it dropped.  :)

Did anyone else hear that?

Watching a visually interesting movie directed by John Woo called Red Cliff - it's actually a two-parter, each part running about 140 minutes.  But there are so many characters and so much going on it's really hard to keep track of it all.

She won the battle of makeup that day - but she must have surrendered on the hair front.

DR JOSE what a great story.  And how wonderful that she was there this morning!  You needed your camera!

Well, I took some pics with my regular cam, as well as my iPhone...

*And I still can't believe that Edwina is 62!?!?!? I'm actually older now, than they age she was then when we first met.  -And Edwina's daughter, Marissa, was also there this morning - still quite a stunner too.

Actually I did get a little worried about how our reminiscing was affecting the service of her other customers, but I don't think anyone minded some small delays. ;)

We are preparing to leave for the Jersey Shore and will not be back until next week.

I have decided not to take the laptop, so here is my wish to every DR for a joyous holiday, fine food, and quality time spent with family and friends.

So.. Possibly sometime tomorrow.  We shall see...

Well, I had wondered how this weekend's concert presentation of The Music Man was going to go down at the Kennedy Center, and after checking some friend's status updates on Facebook, well...  Here's one of them:

...just returned from an embarrassingly bad concert version of The Music Man with the NSO Pops. OK, Shirley Jones is 75 and can't really sing anymore, but what is her son Patrick Cassidy's excuse? Rebecca Luker was magnificent, but the rest? OY!

...The other "reports" were along the same lines. :-\

Forgive me for not remembering, but is it DAYS OF OUR LIVES some of you watch?  Betsy just found out that little girl Lauren Boles of that show is our sister-in-law's cousin!

Sorry, DR JMK, that's a terrible LA-based soap. I only watch these days ONE LIFE TO LIVE, which broadcasts from NYC. When ALL MY CHILDREN moves to LA, only ONE LIFE and AS THE WORLD TURNS Will be shooting here.

OH!

And since I was not taking the bus back up to NYC this time, I was able to bring back some extra stuff with me... Like my pre-lighted, three-foot high Christmas Tree!

:)

*And, yes, it's already set up in the not-really-big-enough-to-be-a-bay-window window. ;)

Good evening all., I am home from my trip to my parents'.  It was a nice holiday, but I am very glad to be home.   Boo was pretty upset that I had been gone and it took her a while to calm down.  She's been on my lap for about 2 hours now and has relaxed and is very happy.

DR JMK, I have beeen following the news reports of your neighbor.  Really sounds like she was targeted...her front door was unlocked (apparently not unusual) so it could have been someone she knew..or someone she didn't knwo at all...very scary

Saturday morning greetings!  Richard and I are getting ready to head to Lima this afternoon for rehearsal for tomorrow's ordination service and a festive dinner at the home of the church's senior warden.  Rob is meeting us there, so some travel vibes for him as he drives from Michigan would be appreciated.

Do you happen to know if the church's "senior warden" knows DR Laura's "game warden"?

This visually arresting movie is terrific, actually.  It took me about forty minutes to figure it all out and get the players straight, but it's a wonderful story.

and one of favorite Motown singles was Irene Ryan doing "In Just No Time At All."

This actually was my audition song for "The Brain From Planet X," in which I was cast! ;D

For the first time in its history, Portland is under a boil order for its water.  I won't go into detail about this or other tribulations we personally have faced the past few days, but suffice it to say Betsy has said she is about to pray to her G-d that the 10 plagues cease soon.  ;)

Finished part one of the long movie - I thought it was great.  Then I went to the imdb to see the comments and, as always, unbelievably stupid comments having little to do with the movie that Mr. Woo made and more to do with the real history.  It's a MOVIE.

Coincidentally, I saw Guy Madison's brother, Wayne Mallory, on SEA HUNT today, as well.

I just watched "Paragraph 175" from Netflix.  I just checked Amazon.com and it's no longer available!  The least expensive used copy is $42.29.
