Next, I watched ON THE TOWN. I was hoping it would look smashing upconverted on Blu-ray, but this is a movie in MAJOR need of a completely new master. It's OK but not nearly as sharp and clean as other MGM musicals of the period (IN THE GOOD OLD SUMMERTIME looks a million times better. It's a much newer transfer.).

Next I skimmed through today's ONE LIFE TO LIVE. The date scenes with Kyle and Fish were seconds long, VERY frustrating. We got to see more of the gay bashing than I wanted to see.

I didn't know Luke was going to be on today's ATWT, but he was in the first scene, so I stopped it and saved it for when I go down later.

yum, killer brownies.  these day i would manage only a bite or two.

LOL, DR Jane!  Actually, Killer Brownies are so rich that bite-size is about all I can manage, too.  One of my favorite things to do for a potluck is to get one of each variety, cut them in quarters, and arrange them on a tray.

i remember you talking about these.  is there a chocolate caramel you like.

I don't know about that, but I suspect that DR Ron Pulliam has been flitting here, there, and everywhere.

I think the question is, is there one I wouldn't like?            :)

i made an appointment for PT beginning next week.  the surgeon said not to go to the Y as it is only pool therapy and it isn't safe to go into a public pool yet.  pool therapy is way down the road, if i need it.  i called the 1st of the two men he suggested, the one referred to as much beloved. so far, from the phone conversation, i like him.

HERE is a list of all the varieties with descriptions.  As you see, the "original" has a layer of caramel, as well as some of the other flavors.  The raspberry and the cream cheese varieties don't really appeal to me.

You probably wouldn't want one of those sold on the train to Hogwarts Academy.  With your luck, you'd get the vomit-flavored one...and then follow it with one that tastes like ear wax.

No bees. No hummin'.

*However, there seems to be a couple of late-season flys/gnats buzzing around.

Back from many errands and whatnot and a spot of lunch at Hugo's.  Transfer guy is in the hospital with pneumonia.  He's supposed to get out today or tomorrow, so we'll do our thing mid-week.

Not all the show-closings will be taking place on Broadway in January...

Altar Boyz to End Off-Broadway Run in January 2010

And here's a blog entry about the closing from one of the show's writers that was posted late last night:

I guess I'll finish up some computer work and then head downstairs and start up with this evening's viewing. I hope to get a movie and both GHOST WHISPERER and MEDIUM watched tonight.

Some sad news from HHW's extended family - Don Mayo, who portrayed "Otis" in The Last Starfighter at NYMF, died this morning.  Thoughts and condolences to DR Julie, DR FJL and his ever-lovin' Skip.

the caramel was the one i remember looked tempting, maybe with cream cheese.  i wouldn't want raspberry or german chocolate cake.  no red velvet with cream cheese ;)

In my CD player here at work:  my very own compilation, "Simuntaneous Songs & Counterpoint - Disc 16."  And right this very minute, I'm listening to "Be a Santa," sung by our very own Guy Haines and the very lovely Michelle Nicastro! ;D

Has anyone heard of how she's doing lately?
