Interesting, DR JoseSPiano.    Thanks for the links!

Alas, I was hoping that after a second and third listen to the new "Listen", my opinion of it would have changed for the better.  Well... However, I guess I do have to give the singers some credit for their good diction - even with all the riffing. -Although, I usually don't mind riffing either, so... Ah, well.  But all those obviously "aren't I clever internal rhymes".. UGH!

I'm about to brave the elements (high winds) to do some errands.  Shutting down the computer, just in case the power goes out while I'm away...bye for now!

Thanks for the links, DR JOSE.  I am not as enthusiastic about the riffs as you are.

The screens look interesting - but I can see how they would become distracting.  I sure get tired when a SHOW becomes a series of star turns that don't serve the evening.

I have Comcast cable and high speed internet.  I am thinking of changing from AT & T to Comcast voice for my telephone.  Thoughts?

Also on tv tonight are the results show of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE.
I would have loved to see Ashleigh and Russell perform that bollywood number.

And at 10pm is the Barbara Walters 10 most fascinating people special.
I am going to record it since i want to see the segment with adam lambert.

If I had known this afternoon would be so filled with interruptions and frustrations, I would have started on YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN when I went downstairs and just skipped working on the Photoshop project. Argh, what a day!

While I ate lunch, I put in a PERRY MASON episode to watch since I didn't have anything recorded from last night's TV schedule.

A rather unusual MASON episode with Perry in with his client from the first scene onward. There was just a little bit of courtroom activity. Most of the episode happened elsewhere.

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is good but not great on Blu-ray. Contrast sometimes seems a little lighter than it should have been giving a less distinct picture. And the DTS-HD MA 5.1 sound barely opens up the mono original track.

I had listened to the Mel Brooks commentary before: kind of rambling but he does talk through the entire movie, mostly describing what we're seeing but occasionally throwing in an anecdote.

Back a little early today. We had another productive day. There was a group of middle school students from New Jersey to help today. They come every year as part of their school commitment to volunteer. They help put together bags for the kids and then they get lunch at McDonalds. They are very enthusiastic and eager to help. A few of them have been helping for 3 or more years. It's quite refreshing to see them help out and learn something about the world around them.

We will have a full day tomorrow (some of the bags that are finished will be delivered tomorrow) and Friday with a couple of big groups to be opened but things are going smoothly and we will probably finish early next week, probably by Wednesday.

The monarch scientist took me and another butterfly enthusiast (who also had  monarchs in her butterfly garden) out for lunch to thank us for letting her monitor our gardens.

That's all the excitement from here.

The rain has stopped and though it's grey it's not too cold, unlike Wisconsin and Iowa which were socked hard by the snowstorm. I guess there is an upside to Anthony not going back to Fort Atkinson for the Christmas show since he would have to deal with 19 inches of snow.

Jane, I see that you're using both upper and lower case letters!  Things must be improving a bit!!  ;D

Good performers, but I didn't like the song in the movie and I like the song even less after seeing that clip. :P

Just my opinion.

I just blew in from my errands - it sure is windy out there!  It's supposed to get real cold tonight, too.

My mom called while I was out to tell us that she's been given January 8 as her moving date.  Next week she and I will pick out her new carpeting and re-visit the apartment with furniture measurements.  Today is a perfect example of why she needs to be in the "Big House."  She can't walk to her mailbox in this wind - she's pretty unsteady on her feet and would blow right over.  The last couple of winters have been very isolating and depressing for her and she will be much happier where she can see people every day.
