I am posting from my doctor's office-- from the examination room, no less.  How cool is that?

Actually, I'm beginning to get a bit peeved--I've been waiting in here for over 20 minutes...

Ain't that the truth!  I got here a half hour early, too!  And I was thrilled when they took me into the examination room 15 minutes early.

But here I continue to wait...

I have waited many times in the examining room... Trust me staring at the anatomical charts and other items is rather boring!

Topic of the Day:  I am most fortunate to have BK's autographs on quite a few things.  I also was able to get our very own Guy Haines' autograph on his first CD! ;)

I have seen Live and In Person:  Betty Buckley (in Sunset Blvd. on Broadway), Bernadette Peters (in concert, here in Olympia!) and Patti LuPone (in concert, in Seattle) and was able to get each of their autographs!

I also have autographs from all of the members of The Manhattan Transfer.  I bought a couple of different sets of autographs on eBay, but last year, the group performed at Jazz Alley in Seattle and I brought a CD and a couple of DVDs that I was able to send backstage to the group to autograph.  I didn't actually get to meet them, but they signed my DVDs and CD.

Jose actually was able to get the autograph of Laurel Massé, the original soprano and founding member of TMT, for me.  Several years ago, he was dining with (if I remember correctly) Amanda McBroom and Laurel (and maybe Michele Brourman).  I mentioned that I LOVE Laurel Massé and Jose was kind enough to get her autograph on one of his origami papers for me. :-*

Cheryl Bentyne, the current soprano of TMT (for 30 years, now) performed a solo gig with her accompanist/husband at The Triple Door (also in Seattle) a couple of years ago and during the two sets (I stayed for both), she came to the back of the audience area and signed autographs and chatted with everyone.  She recorded Among Friends, an audio-DVD and I brought that for her to sign.  Nobody else there had even heard of this. :D

And the one time that I went to London, my sister, niece and I went to see Kiss Me, Kate with the WSMA Brent Barrett, Marin Mazzie, Nancy Anderson and Michael Berresse, as well as several prominant British musical theater performers.  I got almost everyone's autographs, except Brent's. :P

But the show was fabulous!

I watched a bunch of TV episodes today. I began by watching the remaining two episodes of PERRY MASON from the season 1, volume 1 box set. These shows were definitely shown out of production order since the private telephone on Perry's desk kept changing from episode to episode. One episode had a very obvious murderer. The other was well hidden and ended up being a surprise to me.

Then, I cracked open THE MENTALIST, Season 1 and began watching the episodes in order. I began with the pilot which was made months before the show was given a green light. Everyone looks considerably younger than they look once the show went to series. It's an excellent pilot, however, and very easy to see why the show sold.

The second show, which I did remember parts of, had Eric Stonestreet guest starring as a chef. He plays one of the gay fathers this year on MODERN FAMILY.

If I have time before I head out to tonight's dinner party, I'll try to fit in one more episode. I do love the show a lot.

We are officially finished with Gift Bag Packing this year. We finished about 1pm. We then broke down everything and returned things to their proper places and Anthony and I returned home. I ate lunch then went to Barnes and Noble to get a "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader" calendar for Anthony's father. He enjoys the questions and when we are out there we spend time reading the questions and answers after dinner.

Tomorrow I will try to sleep as late as my body will allow and then I will get a haircut. I may also go to the Union Square Greenmarket.

We have a friend visiting on Friday and we have holiday parties on Saturday and Sunday and the post-Bag Packing Volunteer Party on Monday the 21st then we head out to Long Island for a few days.

I didn't get any review discs in today's mail, so it appears that I'm going to have another day off tomorrow. Good! That will help me watch the several shows that'll be reocrding tonight while I'm out of the house.

Now, I'm going to finish up some computer stuff here, and then head down to watch another episode of THE MENTALIST before I make final preparations to leave for the dinner party.

I finished everything we didn't finish yesterday, i.e. addressing and prepping customs forms for all the bigger orders - all that's left to do tomorrow is actually put all CDs in packages and then attach postage to only three boxes - everything else is done.  I'm hoping we can do it all, get it to the post office by ten-thirty, and be done by eleven, at which time I'll run the biggest order to UPS and get that on its way.

DR JANE general consensus is that a singer named Mike Stewart (who also did some Pogo recordings for Walt Disney) is the singer of the Bat Masterson theme song.

Back from helping my color-blind mother select carpet for her home-to-be.  Not what I would have chosen, but she was insistent.  We then visited the apartment to take some measurements.  It was all torn up and they were painting, so I left her in the hall.  She has such sensitive lungs, I didn't want her breathing any paint fumes.
