As for the Topic of the Day...

Movies:

"Suspect" - This was filmed in DC, and two of my friends play some of Liam Neeson's homeless "neighbors" in the movie.  -Oh, and Dennis Quaid too! -And Cher.
"The Return of Martin Guerre"

TV:

"Law & Order" - Whichever one happens to be on when I'm flipping channels.  ;) -Although, the "mothership" is still the best.
"Night Court" - Did any of those actors ever fully "recover" from this series?

I'm not too crazy about the artwork either...

*And what is it lately with ugly and cheap-looking Broadway show logos?

**My apologies for the "bigness" of that image - It wasn't that big on the original website. ::)

And doesn't the word "PROMISES" look kind of funny/strange/weird?  Especially when back-to-back: "PROMISES, PROMISES".

-It's like it should be pronounces: "PRO-MIZES, PRO-MIZES"....

T.O.D.

INHERIT THE WIND - probably the first time I was able to look beyond an unlikeable character and appreciate the acting performance.  Fredric March was wonderful, as was Spencer Tracy and the rest of the cast.  A great film.

JUDGEMENT AT NUREMBERG - Why didn't Judy Garland win an Oscar for this performance?

Last night DR Cillaliz wrote:

I tried to watch Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin but she drives me nuts and I could care a less about whether she swears or whether she has to pay money back or really anything else about her.  I didn't find her funny at all.  I gave up and turned off the TV and took a nice hot bath.  I did watch Carson Daly for the countdown in central time

I think if you don't like her then you will not enjoy watching her with Anderson Cooper.

I really like her. And although i don't watch him on CNN often, I see him a lot when he fills in for Regis, and i like him a lot. So i think the two of them together are hilarious.

Interestingly enough i came across a survey asking if people thought they were funny, or irritating. I was expecting it to be half and half. But it was like 90% for funny.

Perhaps because the only people who would put up with watching the show were people who already thought they were funny.

Back from shipping, some bacon and eggs, a few errands and whatnot, and I've begun writing and have done half a page, after making a few adjustments in what I wrote yesterday.  I talked to my friend, Mr. Nick Redman, this morning and he's really excited I'm doing this particular book and I discussed the process and he encouraged me to just write long and worry about it later, and I think that's sage advice.  And he loved the title.

Nut clusters, which, for some reason, are not nearly as popular with the populace as cranberries.  So, soon we may have to scratch the nut clusters.  Have you ever scratched your nut clusters?  I think I'll stop right there.

Dakota I’m glad you and your dh had a good show, in spite of a hiccup.

The coldest temp I’ve experienced was -40, with the chill factor.  It didn’t seem as bad as your description, but then I never thought to throw boiling water into the air.  I wish I had.  I remember taking half an hour to layer on enough closes to take echo to the park to walk & play.
