Is DS Jeremy older or younger than DD Sandra?  And is he as delightfully zany droll?        :)

[ or does he sit at a different table and pretend not to know these other people?   ;) ]

He's a year and a half older. And sometimes he does pretend not to know us.

Thank you Jose and DAW, I will pass on your good thoughts.  Sadly, like so many of us at our ages; she has very little family left.  He son is working in Afghanistan, and she isn't even sure that she can reach him.

I think both DAW and Laura would enjoy STAND BY ME, except for possibly the language.

And speaking of foreign films, I picked up the Stravinsky ballet DVD on DR JMK's recommendation and am looking forward to seeing these reconstructions of the original choreography.

This morning the church where I sing celebrated Epiphany.  So in the annual tradition, I dressed up in a glamorous gold gown and crown.

Fortunately, there were no cameras present this year.

Oh, my, I've been lost down memory lane for the past couple of hours.  Someone has started a Facebook group:

The Ol' Neighborhood 48227/48228

I grew up in 48228 (northwest Detroit) and I've been enjoying the discussions and the pictures.

Tomorrow is the big office move so I went down tonight to see if they finished the carpet.   Well, they sort of have. There are still things that need to be done.  The carpet all appears to be stretched in, the trim isn't done in most of the rooms, but they listened to me and it's done in the rooms where there will be really heavy furniture that will need to be close to the walls.

I'm hoping someone runs the vacuum before we get started in the morning... and since I plan to start moving boxes at 7:00 AM, I'm not so sure that will happen....but....all in all it looks great

I should say, the cleaning people clean at night and I was there around 6:00 PM, so it's entirely possible that it will be cleaned tonight.  I am toying with putting my vacuum in the car just in case.  I know that isn't my job, but I'm the one who wants to start so early in the AM.   It's really because the movers I'm paying by the hour will start at 8:30 AM, so I'm hoping to have all the boxes moved up there before they arrive. Then they can just move the furniture.

Thanks Ginny.   I am SOOO excited about this move, since we don't have to go outside to do it, it should be very smooth.  I'm hoping

Probably a Minority Opinion but I thought AVATAR was just OK. It's a beautiful film,no doubt, but the beauty became boring. It had alot of action but the action eventually became boring, And The Movie is way too long. There aren't too many Movies that I can say this about-but I don't think I could ever see this movie a second time.

Thank you for the movie report.  i've read similar complaints that it is too long.

i believe we are in the minority with our opinion of "500 days of summer"  after all the hype we were very disappointed.  we love charming quirky films and felt, for the most part, this missed the boat.

We just finished watching 500 DAYS OF SUMMER.  We enjoyed it.  It was different, not quite what we expected.

When Clark Gregg read the "Roses are red" greeting card, I must admit that I laughed so hard that we had to pause the movie for 5 minutes.

What can I say?

hmm, i must have slept through that.  email me what it said.  i did love the bit at the end of the movie,

I don't think I have a favorite Stephen King movie.

On the other hand, I do have some favorite Rehana movies, including the Bollywood film I am now watching, DILRUBA (1949) starring Dev Anand, Rehana, Yakub, and Cuckoo.
