Thanks everyone.  I would rather all vibes went for bringing DAW back.

TCB, you know by now that there are enough:

once i was able to use the computer after my return home from the hospital i put a hold on a request for a book at the library.  i figured it worked since i went from number 5 to number 6 in the hold line.  apparently i hadn't suspended my hold as the book came in today.  they had changed the way it is done & i now need to fill in a reactivation date.  maybe by the time the 16 people now in front of me have read the book i shall be able to hold it easily.

If a book won't be out until May, when do you think it will show up in the system so i can go on the waiting list?

The new "Sonic" Drive-In has opened in Hayward. The DP and i are heading over there for dinner.  This is a BIG deal!

They show their commercials here a lot, but as far as I know, there is no Sonic in western Washington. :P

They show them here in New York City too, and there's definitely not one on the isle of Manhattan. ::)

I've never seen candles in a fireplace. Although i've never heard of not being allowed to light your fireplace either.

Well I know I put my name in for that book on sunday! :)

You should ask them. At my library you are allowed to put your name for a book as soon as you want to. But we can't do that from home.

At my sister's library she can do it from home. She "suggests" a book online from her account, and then somehow the system keeps track of who asked for it first.

I'll bet you can reserve the May book now. And if you're allowed, i'll bet others have already done it.

DR Ginny, did you watch the Orange Bowl?

DR Cillaliz - I did watch part of it, until halftime.  I was for Iowa, of course, and was glad to see this morning that they maintained their lead and won the game.  The two meetings I attended yesterday were exhausting and I went to bed early last night and slept late this morning.

I knew you would be...Big 10 and all.   it was a really good game

I just played games with my niece.

Dora ice hockey. Princess Yahtzee.  And a game that is sort of like "where is waldo" where you have to find all kinds of items on a huge picture.

I found the last game very interesting. My niece turned 4 in september. She could find the items (cherries, eggs, birds...) on the picture.  But i would be able to find it faster. But where she would beat me is that she would memorize the big pictures (there are hundreds and hundreds of items on the picture).

She knows the 50 little pictures she is supposed to find (cherries, eggs, birds, radish, plates...) and she would look at the big picture and memorize them as soon as we started playing.

It was quite interesting to see her do this.

But in addition, there are like 20 big pictures, and she had played one of them 1-2 weeks ago. and she was remembering where the things were from last time. I figured this out when she would show things to me and add, "oh  mommy and i couldn't find this one last week" and then she would point to it.

darn jennifer, i can't put a hokd on the book until it is in the system.  i asked when i called tonight to release the book they were holding.  she said it should go in the system once the book has been ordered. my guess is we have too many libraries in our one system to do that.  do you have any idea how many people are ahead of you?

Did you notice that they had put candles in the fireplace?  I had never seen that before.  They actually had a "specialty" grate with candle holders.  I had never seen that before either, LOL.

Jane, I watched BALLET SHOES (1975) last night. Still a good film, but quite a different screenplay. The girls are a bit younger, Guardy is rather scatter-brained, and a LOT more ballet. I like the 2005 version better, but both are worth seeing, IMO.

No. Fortunately, he didn't eat a lot of it. He's done this before--same sculpture.
