DR MattH, I just read your comments about CHUCK.

I know you've always hated the BUYMORE stuff. I sort of like it some of the time. It can get stupid. But i think the show is trying to be a spy comedy. It sounds like you wish it was a spy drama, which i don't think it will ever be.  Chuck is always gonna be Chuck.  And there will always be some type of issues with Chuck and Sara.

I can't tell if i'm excited or not, but tonight is the premiere of AMERICAN IDOL.  I don't see the show being as good with Ellen. To me the paula/simon dynamic was a huge part of the show. And that simon has announced that this will probably be his last season (he is doing a new show) i think that the show will go downhill if that happens.

I think the producers are hoping he will do both shows since they will be at different times of the year. Although yesterday he announced this will be his last season.

Tuesday morning greetings!  It's Mom's Moving Day and there appears to be no snow - thanks for the vibes!

Good morning, all! I have the McGlinnventory this morning followed by an afternoon of work here. Yesterday's meeting at Toyland was necessary and very invigorating. It was nice to see several good folk and to hear two others over the telephone, and I think it got us all revved up to accomplishing some good work for the next months. I've lost my trusty sidekick on BABES IN TOYLAND Vol. 1 and most of THE LADY OF THE SLIPPER, Tom Murray, who's gone on to be the Music Director of the LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC revival but i've acquired an equally fabulous replacement, the wonderful composer and musician Skip Kennon, who'll help me get through BABES IN TOYLAND Vol. 2 and the remainder of THE LADY OF THE SLIPPER.

DR Jose, tell Josh Grisetti I send my love. Several of his friends, including his former roommate Kasey Marino, were in last night's event, and Josh is one of my favorite performers. I will have to miss Thursday's event because of other commitments and I would love to be there to cheer for Josh and to meet his wife. Here's Josh in the center kicking up his heels in WHERE'S CHARLEY?

Oh, I sure wish I could be at Barnes & Noble for Thursday's event!  I sent the info to our friends Doug & Jon who live just around the corner from there.

DR Cilla -- I feel badly for the deer and other animal life surviving outdoors in this deep freeze and snow.  They must be soooo cold and soooo hungry.  It must be very hard for them to find any food in that deep snow.

For the past couple of days I've become obsessed with season one of Dexter.  I've never watched that show before, but I know a lot of people like it, and a lot of DRs here have mentioned it.  I decided to take advantage of Netflix's streaming watch instantly option, and season one is where I landed.   Are the following seasons as interesting as the first one?

TOD:

I love all vegi dishes.

I love all the different "saag" dishes, which is spinach and cheese and ususally some type of meat like chicken or lamb or goat.

I love home-made cream of corn.

I love plain old sauteed cabbage

Green bean casserole is another favorite.

To me they have all been interesting.

Each year there are different guest stars. But I am still blown away by the season finale this season.

I like vegetables. I like them roasted in the oven with some olive oil. Or sauteed. Or raw in a salad.

DR MattH, I just read your comments about CHUCK.

No, the comedy is OK. What I find is that IT'S REPETITIVE. Chuck has been flashing for three years now and has been in front of murderous bad guys for years. There should be SOME signs of growth in him as a person and as an agent.

Instead, the writers rehash the basic story over and over, and I'm just tired of it. It tickled me for a season and a half, but I've tired of the formula, and they had the wherewithall to make some changes, and they didn't.

The show's Sunday ratings were on the high end for the show (higher than its season average last year. The ratings for last night's show haven't come out yet.) I'll be interested to see how it did in its Monday slot.

Season Two is even greater if you can believe it. Season Three is good but not great. Season four and season one are equal in quality for me, but Season four has a true star guest villain - John Lithgow, and he's great.
