Guess I'll finish writing up the bonus features on the OPEN CITY disc and then head down for bed.

Good night!

Just found out the Morrell's pork plant here is going to close in April.  That's a loss of 1500 jobs. that's really going to hurt the area

Der Brucer is doing well.  The tube was removed, making him much happier - he does not do tubes graciously, ever.  Of course, it was removed on hospital time, which means that when they said they'd be taking it out in fifteen to twenty minutes, they really meant for us to wait a hour.

I'll be heading back to the hospital tomorrow morning.

The dogs are coping as well as they can.

BK- Nice you got a new table, although I was thinking you could just get a new marble top for the old table, but I guess this way is cheaper and less hassle, I suppose..

And now i even get to color again.  I'm much better at it now! :)

I always wanted that big 64-crayon box that the other kids had. So many colors to choose from! And it had a crayon sharpener built in!

Me too!  My parents always thought that 48 was more than I needed, but would give in and let me get that...64? nope.  I actually bought one the other day. I was going to have crayons at the office but have been convinced that I should do puzzles instead.  So, I have some crayons and coloring books...lol.  One of these days I may just have to sit and color

I always wanted that, too. I mentioned it to Greg once, and the following Christmas...

Then we ended up giving it to my godson. It's the thought that counts!

Holy moley on rye.  I had a visit from a dealer bringing me some CDs.  He and his partner were sitting at my dining room table.  The table, which is round and marble sits on a pedestal.  The one guy got up, pressing down on his side of the table.  The entire third of the opposite side of the table broke off and shattered.   I think at some point it had gotten "scored" or damaged, but boy was it shocking.  I got the mess cleaned up and thankfully it didn't do any damage, but now I've got to go find another dining table asap, since I do all the Kritzerland shipping on it and there's not enough room now.  I may go over to Restoration Hardware in Sherman Oaks, to see what they have that's reasonably priced.

And, as I thought, I guess you found out that "reasonably priced" doesn't really exist at Restoration Hardware. ;)

My parents always bought the Crayola 64 box.  More crayons = less fights between me and my three brothers.

*And I even recall getting the special 96-box too!

DR Cillaliz - Any idea of how many school (elementary and high school) days have been lost so far in your area?  -And just how many they build into the school calendar?

OH! Today Edith came in and told me that some of the skywalkers (the regulars who hang out on the skywalk) were on Maury Povich on one of those Who's the daddy shows.   She saw the girl and asked her if she had been on TV, she said yes and when Edith asked what show she said "Maury Povich"  she said they paid their air fare and hotel but nothing else.  She said she was humiliated.  Well duh, she had narrowed it down to 5 possible men. They tested 3 and all were not the father.  It was really a sad story, but was also very odd and kind of funny when you see people loitering around all day and then there they are on Maury. Since I don't watch I had to see it on Youtube.  I'm surprised that Ruth gave Edith a link on how to get to it.  Of course, i also don't understand how anyone could go on those shows

Here's the link.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzhIRwnq-uE It's a sad story, but one of the guys is a security guard who was fired.  Part of his job was walking by our old office many times a day.

Not really sure.  The big Christmas blizzard happened while they were on break.  We had snow earlier in December and the last blizzard was right after they went back to school.  I'm not sure how many days they build into the school year, but they always make some allowances for the weather. Perhaps if I had kids I'd pay more attention to it ;)

No cancellations for tomorrow yet, but the freezing rain isn't too far south of here and it's heading this way, so I'm sure there will be by morning.  We're used to snow, but we're really not used to ice. When we have ice storms, they are usually really bad news. I'm just hoping the powerlines don't go down. That's when it really gets nasty
