I went hunting in my closet for some clothes I hadn't worn in a while and came across a fleece pull-over I'd forgotten about.  It has this image on the front:

It expresses my state of mind perfectly and I'm wearing it today.

we used to have that sitting out in various places of the house ;D

An interesting thing about Paul that he's never talked about to me but I found out was that Graham Parsons was in his first band, The Shilos.

He's also made some nice docs about music (The Kingston Trio, The Carpenters) that show up from time to time on PBS.

Today we're meeting some friends from Randy Newman's group---Susan (occasional lurker here) who went with us on our late night Research Video visit, another frience who used to write for Andy Kauffman and helped originate Comic Relief but doesn't talk about it), another friend in broadcasting who has a car I covet (a Morgan---hope he brings it!) a friend from Paramount (I'm trying to be very Hollywood and impress everyone) and our niece, Michelle, who teaches African American studies at USC.

Are you serious???   African American studies at USC?

DR Jane re: your question yesterday.

Yes the recipes I use for shepherd's pie puts cheese to bake on top of the mashed potatoes. I know some people do not like it this way. But I really do.

Last night I watched the romantic comedy THE UGLY TRUTH with Katherine Heigel and Gerard Butler. I have only seen him in maybe one other movie. But I thought they were both really good.  A really funny and enjoyable romantic comedy!

I have a lot of tv viewing tonight including a few things that air at different times in the US:

We have the premiere of DAMAGES, tomorrow's CHUCK, Tuesday's LOST (the 1 hour recapish show). And then I also have DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and BROTHERS & SISTERS.

I had extra yogurt that was expiring. ANd my sister had bananas in her freezer that were getting old. So i spent part of the morning making banana breads and banana muffins.

Then i went to babysit my 8 month old niece at the skating rink, while my 4 year old niece and her parents went skating (ice for DR Jane).

I am feeling a little bit under the weather. Could be because of the extreme temperature change the past few days (it was -25C). But i woke up and my throat was super dry and felt competely fatigued all over. Yuck! :(

Does  Anyone out there have a DVD of the Jean Simmons Movie THE HAPPY ENDING?

It was just on FMC yesterday, IIRC.  I watched about 10 minutes of it.  Shirley Jones was a high priced call girl--shades of ELMER GANTRY.

Just finished watching GIRLS ON THE LOOSE (1958). Mara Corday played pure evil quite well! Many sets and costumes and even music left over from previous Universal-International movies.

Now, to watch TEEN AGE CRIME WAVE or INHERIT THE WIND. It is difficult to decide.

I think there's a little lesson about evolution right there in that comment.  ;)

Off to play this bizarre funeral where they want Chopin's Revolutionary Etude.  Pray for Rosemary's left hand.

Jon Hamm as sexy Sen. Scott Brown last night on SNL

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/snls-sexy-jon-hamm-as-sexy-scott-brown/

I really, really liked last night's "SNL".  A pretty good episode overall.  Even the throwaway sketches had a good chuckle or two.  -And bringing the whole closet organizer guy sketch full circle... :)

*Oh... And "Hamm and Bublé", of course.

I did not watch SNL, but the sketch I posted had received some comments....I can't imagine much of any episode of the show being worth a chuckle.

HOWEVER, I must say that I just watched three episodes of Season One of HERE'S LUCY and did not laugh once.  Who was this Milt Josefsberg who wrote many of the episodes and was the script consultant on the rest?  He certainly wasn't very good.  And everyone YELLS so much!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.....we have Season Two already of the Lucie Arnaz Audition Show.....I mean HERE'S LUCY, but still no work on Season Two of THE LUCY SHOW.

Yes, but all SIX seasons of WILL & GRACE are available, so you have plenty to watch.  ;)

WILL & GRACE ran eight seasons.

Oh, yes, I did, DR MBarnum.  My apologies for not acknowledging and thanking you earlier for posting those pics. That's quite an "everyday" collection.  -Are they all filled? Or do you keep one or two or three sets filled for everyday use?

And John Hamm was also shirtless in another sketch last night. :)

*And I thought Michael Bublé seemed extra cute last night.  Although, I did have to wonder how he was able to sing and breathe in those jeans he was wearing during his first song. ::)

It got warmer here today than they anticipated with the result that there was much more melting of ice and snow thatn anyone expected. I still probably won't walk tomorrow morning, but I'm encouraged that it'll be even warmer tomorrow and thus make for an endurable week.

I decided to do a working lunch just to see if I could possibly finish BARNABY JONES this afternoon. No dice. I'm still 1 1/2 episodes short of finishing. I'll have to get to them tonight, but that means I'll have a nice long slot of time to watch THE BOURNE IDENTITY on Blu-ray. Can't wait to see it.

as for all of the BARNABY JONES episodes I watched, there was the usual selection of guest stars from that era that appeared in almost all of the CBS crime shows of the time: Roddy McDowell, Jackie Coogan, Arlene Golonka, Marlyn Mason (who sang an anemic version of "Try to Remember" playing a lounge singer), Reni Santoni, Claude Akins, Dabbs Greer, Neva Patterson, Bill Bixby (very handsome), Louise Troy, and Barry Sullivan is the main guest star (killer) in the episode I am currently watching.
